"<p>Needed new provider.  Scott came and gave me a quote in about 30 min.  I subsequently contracted with Scott/Knockout.  It was the first cut of the season and my lawn was seriously overgrown.  Charged me $60 for first cut which was very reasonable.</p> <p>Charging me $40/cut, the same price I was paying the previous provider but doing a much better job.</p> <p>Gave me a quote for cleanup of $600 which was reasonable.  This work has not been done yet but is on the schedule.</p> <p>Owner Scott very professional yet friendly.</p> <br />"

"Esposito Landscaping has been cutting my lawn and weed whacking all around my yard since 2011. The walkways and driveway are always cleared of any debris after each cutting. Esposito Landscaping has done a very nice job at a reasonable price per visit. As a gift from my daughter, snow removal was added this winter. The Esposito crew responded to every significant snowfall without having to be called. They shoveled my walkway and plowed the driveway as needed. After an especially icy winter episode, I requested that the driveway be salted, and they complied without hesitation."

"He mowed the lawn, the top field, the east field, the verge of the driveway, and the parking area - rough guess almost an acre total. Can you say Energizer Bunny? Nathan just keeps going until it's done. (The west field will have to wait until he can brush-hog it first; some of the stuff in there is big enough to hurt a mower.) Then he weed-whacked around all the edges. Then we discussed the future landscaping and maintenance work to be done. He'll be back soon to do some planting for me. I am pleased and impressed with the work. <br /> <br />"

"True to his word,  Rick Kindler was <strong>honest, reliable and professional</strong>.   He worked solid for 2 1/2 days.   He came early and stayed late.   He never stopped!   He trimmed trees - gathered and removed all trimmings.   He cleaned the bark beds and replenished them with 7 yards of  bark.   That's what we asked for and paid for --  <strong> then we got more!!<br /> </strong>He cleaned up the dead leaves in the yard --  raking them and blowing  the leaves to remove  them. <br /> Rick then patched a spot on the lawn where the dog had destroyed the grass.  He  cleaned it - put fresh soil and fertilizer down and seeded the area.  <br /> He still didn't stop!   Rick continued to patch two other areas of the lawn where  a local utility company bulldozed to access the underground utilities.  Again, we didn't ask for this nor did he charge us for this.   Rick did it as a courtesy.   <br /> Rick communicated with us throughout the day - making sure that we were satisfied with the work he was doing.   He made suggestions  about trimming various branches to improve the curb appeal of the house.   <br /> We live in Shaler Township  and Rick traveled from Murrysville to provide landscaping services for us. <br /> We would highly recommend anyone looking for landscaping help to call Rick.  <strong>We did - and we couldn't be happier!!!</strong> <br />"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in East Vandergrift, PA

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
