"Mike and team did a phenomenal job on the exterior of our house. It is an older home so the paint and trim needed a lot of work. Trim needed repair as well as stucco, and all of these were handled very well. The team was meticulous and they made sure at every step of the way that we were happy with the results. We get many compliments on the house now. I plan to hire Mike again for future projects."

"Derek is exactly what you hope for when hiring a painter. As shown in the attached picture, his work is extremely high quality - crisp straight lines including the stripe, no spill over on the trim or ceiling, spackled all areas in need of repair, and he even took the initiative to sand all the walls before painting (something we didn’t discuss beforehand). All the logistics of the job were perfect (prompt responses to questions, arrived on time both days, left the room completely clean) and he had a personable, professional attitude. The nursery turned out just as we had envisioned, and we’ll definitely be using DS Painting for other rooms in the future."

"Pete Darlington wasn't the lowest estimate that we got for painting our house, but we were attracted to his attention to detail, obvious concern with quality, and willingness to work with our time frame and our initial desire to do part of the job ourselves. When we first contracted with Pete, we intended to prep and paint the window frames ourselves. He provided guidance about how to do that and was willing to work around our schedule for completing the task. After the powerwash, we decided we wanted Pete's crew to do the window frames and the soffit, which we originally had not planned to paint. Pete gave us a price for the additional work and was ready to go in a couple of days. He and his crew did a great job. The team was organized and friendly. They covered shrubs and wrapped the brick face of our house to protect it from overspray. They showed great respect for our property. The fresh paint looks great. We would definitely recommend Darlington Exterior Services. <br />"

"Bill and his son did a fantastic job. We recently purchased a new home and needed help painting the two-story walls and ceilings. We closed on the house between Christmas and New Years and needed to have the painting done during the holiday week before the movers arrived. Bill agreed to paint during the holiday week and even arrived very early in the mornings to make sure the job would be completed to suit our timeline for the moving company. On top of doing a great job, Bill is nice guy. My husband and I were painting a single story room while Bill and his son were painting the tall walls, and Bill took the time to give us some painting tips, even demonstrating proper technique. He even prepped some areas on a wall we were painting."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Easton, PA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
