"I'm exceptionally particular, and my lawn always looks great. I've recomended Broeker mowing to my friends and they've told me Broeker does a better job than the mowing service they did have."

Customers say: Quick response

"I received a quote for my yard and it was very reasonable. After personally seeing the size of my yard and work that needed to be done the estimate increased (understandably) but it was still reasonable. The owner was very friendly and personable and was even willing to start on my yard right away despite an oncoming storm. He powered out my front yard and even started on the backyard when the rain began. We discussed other yard maintenance and I will be hiring him for some other jobs as well. I looked around at several services around town and I'm confident I hired the right man/company! The service is prompt, done well, reasonably priced, and friendly. I will definitely recommend him/Dragon and Son Lawn Care Service and Yard Maintenance to anyone needing those services!"

"The guys from JCM HOME SERVICES rescued me this weekend! I needed lawn service right away because I was going to have surprise visitors the next day and my yard was a mess! (Embarrassing!) Even though it was at the end of the workday and the two men had already put in a full very hot and humid day of hard labor, they responded to my plea on Angi. They came over immediately and within a couple hours, my grass was trimmed, mowed, and sidewalk edged. They raked, cleaned up debris by hand, shovel and blower. They were careful, respectful, friendly and my yard looks great! I’m very happy JCM Home Services did all this work for me and only on a moment’s notice. I would recommend them for sure! I believe they have the muscles and initiative to take care of any home service need you have. "

"I reached out to Doerr Enterprise for tree trimming on a couple of my trees hanging over my house. He got back to me in a timely manner and set up a schedule of when he would come and do them. He stuck to the plan and got it done when he said he would. After it was all finished you could not even tell he was ever there. The clean up was fantastic. Would hire again and recommend to many family and friends. "

"I'm not picky when someone comes. If the contractor doesn't show, they always contact me that they will follow up. Usually on time. Nice work. Did not know trimming would cost more, so it is not part of what I get. I just have the guy mow my lawn front and back."

FAQs for lawn care maintenance and mowing projects in Lincoln, NE

Hiring a professional saves you time and can actually save you money in the long run. Without regular care, your lawn might develop problems like thatch buildup, diseases, or pests, which can be expensive to fix. A pro keeps your lawn healthy, so you can enjoy it without the hassle.

Mowing your lawn yourself is generally cheaper than paying someone to do it. While a lawn mower can cost between $80 and $2,500 depending on the type, professional mowing services charge between $30 and $80 per visit. Investing in your own mower means that over time, you can save money by handling the mowing yourself, especially if you maintain your lawn regularly.

While the wording may vary from company to company, lawn maintenance typically includes all the services that keep your current healthy lawn looking sharp. Think mowing, watering, weeding, and a spring or fall cleanup.

Lawn care digs a bit deeper. These packages may include services that elevate your lawn's health or address an issue throughout the year. Fertilization, pest and weed control, and dethatching all fall into this category.

There is no set-in-stone schedule for mowing your lawn, as each grass variety grows at a different rate depending on the season. Once you determine the type of grass in your lawn and its ideal height, aim to remove no more than the top third of the blade at a time to retain its healthy structure.

In the high growing season, this will likely break down to about once a week, which is why lawn care specialists often offer weekly plans.

Don’t mow your grass if it hasn’t grown more than one-third of its height since you last cut it. For example, if you want grass no more than 2 inches, don’t mow it until it’s 3 inches. Don’t cut your grass when wet, as it clumps together and places more stress on your mower’s blades and makes it harder for the sun to reach the turf. This can lead to mold or disease. Conversely, don’t mow when it’s too dry. But, if you do, be sure to raise your mower’s deck height by about half an inch to encourage slower growth.

Yes, landscaping can significantly add value to your home. High-quality landscape design offers a return on investment of 20% to 30%. A well-maintained lawn and attractive outdoor spaces enhance your property's curb appeal and market value, making it more appealing to potential buyers when you decide to sell.
