"I paid an excessive amount of money to replace the heating system. The sales rep gave us comfort that everything will be done right and the two experienced and fully licensed professionals will be doing the work and that there is a no-excuse warranty, 1 degree guarantee, and 10 years on both the service and hardware. It just so happened that after the install, I told the installer I smelt gas and to check everything. He simply waved it off and said it's fine, give it some time. I told AJ Perri multiple times that there is a gas leak and I asked them to rectify the situation. I called them multiple times to send someone to fix the issue immediately and urgently, but they refused to commit to any resolution and won't send anyone until the gas is turned off for the whole building. I explained that its a condo and that the unit itself in the utility closet has a separate gas shutoff valve. Knowing this, they refused to remediate the gas leak."

"The folks at Chip Chop n' Grind are fantastic! Adam and his crew were friendly, professional, on time, and hard-working. They really went above and beyond on the work at our house. Adam wants to make sure everything is done right and it shows in the quality of Chip Chop's work. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. I will absolutely use them again and will definitely be recommending them to others."

"I can not comment on the product quality because I never placed an order. I will comment on the totally unprofessional and unhinged behavior of the person/people answering the phone. I called on 4/30/20 at 4:49pm to inquire about having 2 yards of soil delivered on 5/2. I spoke with a man (no identification) who told me that he would take my number and call me back tomorrow. I gave him my name and number and hung up the phone. I received a call this morning (5/1/20) at 6:52 am from a female as a follow up. She quoted me 112-116$ for two yards of soil. I asked about what time I can expect the soil to be delivered on 5/2. She told me that it could be any time between 7-1pm. She then started to explain in detail how they process the deliveries at their site, which was ok but too much information. I then asked specifically what type of soil I was being quoted, at which point she told me that she could not tell me because I never told her what it was being used for. I said some was for a flower bed and some would be used for my lawn. She stated that the quote was for screened topsoil because that was the best for my application. At this point I was concerned with the vague nature of her responses and stated that I would have to call her back to schedule the delivery as I thought the price was a bit high and wanted to explore other options. All of sudden a male voice came onto the phone unidentified and started yelling at me about how I don't know what I'm talking about and that I should call "Mr. Mulch", because they'll be sure to get it to me "by Thursday". I attempted to slow this guy down and he then stated "Aren't you the guy who called me after 5 yesterday?" I told him I called just before 5, he told me I was lying. He then asked me what I do for a living. I said "I guess you don't want my business." He told me that he did not need my business, that he had more business than he knows what to do with, and hung up the phone. I am dumbfounded at this behavior. I can't help but assume that the call at 6:52am was punitive for some kind of perceived slight of calling his business after 5pm, even though I clearly did not. It is not acceptable to call a private residence at that time without prior discussion. This person isn't right in the head, and a search of other online reviews bears out a pattern of this type of behavior. This business should be avoided at all costs. I can only imagine what type of response a customer would receive if there was a problem with their delivery. I am thankful that I never got to that point."

"Working with Carl, Karen and Jack at CTS Electric was a truly excellent experience, and I am so glad we found them! We've needed a back-up generator for quite a while, and had checked out some other suppliers, but none of them could design a system that worked for the layout of our home. Carl came out and, in one hour, had the perfect solution for us! The generator we ordered, a 20 Kw Briggs & Stratton unit, arrived on time and was quickly followed up with a highly professional installation. Even when the usual installation "challenges" came up, all was taken in stride and professionally resolved, most likely taking more time than had been anticipated, at NO additional charge. Jack was even able to come back later, on an additional job that got our WiFi working better than ever - yes, they do that too! Our installation is very neat and completely unobtrusive. And, we have already had a chance to see how well the installation works. Our power went out for 12 hours just one week after the unit was installed. But for us, it was only out for about 25 seconds! Our back-up generator kicked in and we had power, and heat, all night long! If you need a back-up generator, and you want things done right, just call CTS Electric!"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Exton, PA

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
