"I hired Mike and Perennial for lawn and landscape maintenance, with a twist. My property is a 13-acre farm, with pet animals, production animals, and a vegetable garden, as well as ornamentals, a raise back deck, two stone walkways and a mulched walkway, and a long gravel drive. There are a lot of spaces to keep track of in any kind of maintenance plan. And because we eat from the farm, toxic chemical use anywhere is not ok.
I had tried a previous company to perform biweekly maintenace and they simply could not customize their standard issue work (mowing square yards and applying chemicals) to my needs. Custom service with attention to detail was no problem for Mike and Perennial!
We agreed on an initial plan for bi-weekly mowing, edging and weed management (hand-weeding, or only food-safe chemicals), using his standard annual fees divided into monthly payments. Mike checked in regularly for feedback, and we quickly agreed we needed to modify things a bit. In summer months, in addition to the two "big visits" for mowing and edging, he added a "short visit" on off weeks to get a bit more time for the weeding. He added the fee for those extra trips only to the months in which they were needed, but also offered to spread out that upcharge over the full year if I had preferred. In fall and winter, the team blew leaves off the porches, decks and walkways (no small feat on my wooded acreage), and picked up deadfall.
Every time they came, things were completed as intended and the property was left neat and tidy. In periods of rain delays or other schedule changes, Mike always let me know if the team would be coming on a different day. They also use email billing with the option to mail a check or pay online, which is a further convenience.
I have worked with Mike and Perennial for the past year. I am disappointed to say that I have to conclude my contract with them because I am moving out of state, too far for this excellent service provider to commute. I am afraid they will have made it difficult for anyone in my new location to live up to their performance! I highly recommend this company.

"

"I used King Green many years ago and they did a great job. Because they left the area for several years, I switched to a competitor. They weren't nearly as good as King Green. I started taking care of my own applications by purchasing my products from a major store. My yard never looked as good as it did when I had King Green. Finally, King Green returned to the area and I signed up for them to take care of my lawn, trees and shrubs. Wow, everything is so beautiful. My yard hasn't looked this good in twenty-four years. From the manager, down to every employee, everyone is kind, professional, knowledgable and simply amazing. I love this company!"

"THE ISSUE: Dead Sod and Shrubs. I was worried at the lateness of the Season as it was September when the sod was put in & October when the plantings were put in. I asked multiple times if it was better to wait until spring to do all the planting. I was told by Anthony (Sprinkles) that it was not a problem & even if it were, that Sprinkles would replace any sod/plant
that did not survive the winter. It was based upon this guarantee by Anthony that I accepted Sprinkles bid and timing
of the install. I ascertained that Sprinkles set the sprinkler timer system to their watering specifications as I
was getting ready to go out of town for nearly three weeks. While I was gone, my daughter noticed dead grass & called Anthony multiple times. He never called her back. Our daughter was very concerned that she was going to get into trouble for the dead grass. I got back, called Anthony, he admitted that he had not called my daughter back. After I called, he only replaced
the dead sod & not the mostly dead sod. Had the installation been in the Spring as I had preferred, we might have changed our minds or Sprinkles would have had to wait until Spring for the income my job provided. I believe this was a factor as Anthony was so adamant that all would be well & that Sprinkles would stand behind their installation/ product as long as we followed the water instructions & that if any plants or grass did not come back in the Spring that Sprinkles would replace them. He visited our home several times & on each occasion stated that we were doing exactly as he instructed us to. This spring we had dead sod/bushes. We waited until May, hoping that they would ?come alive?, they did not, so my husband called Sprinkles. Steve at Sprinkles was rude, verbally abusive & combative. Steve stated he ?knew? that Anthony had not told me that. I informed him that he was wrong & that I would like to speak to Anthony. Steve then admitted that Anthony no longer worked at Sprinkles. It turns out Steve came after Anthony left. He admitted that he did not know Anthony. I asked Steve, how then, could he speak for Anthony. He said it was Sprinkles policy that they do not guarantee their installation or product. I said Sprinkles might not have, but their representative Anthony did & that is why I accepted Sprinkles bid in the first place. During the conversation, I kept asking that Steve (or a representative of Sprinkles) please come to my property to see the issue. He flat out said, No! During the conversation, I kept asking to speak to the manger. Steve kept denying me access to the manager & finally admitted that
he was the Manager. I then asked multiple times to speak to the owner & he denied me access. I then said fine, thanked him for his time, hung up on him & called back. To woman I spoke with said Steve shouldn?t have spoke that way, I agreed & she
apologized for him. She stated she had to smooth things over before with other customers. We discussed the situation & she asked that I wait until it got hot weather in. I agreed if she would have someone come out on Monday to look at what I was
talking about. She agreed. No one came. No one called. It is now July 27, 2014 & what was dead in May 2014 is still dead. My goal is to get Sprinkles to follow thru on Anthony?s guarantee of Sprinkles services & fix the issues caused by inferior product, incorrect installation & plantings that did not thrive. Sprinkles blames it all on a ?bad winter?. Again, had they disclosed their actual policy of not standing behind their installation & product, I would have waited until Spring, & yes, I might have gone with someone
else.
SOD HISTORY: I have personally installed sod before. I know how it is supposed to be done & what good sod looks like. Had I known that Sprinkles did not stand behind their installation & product, I frankly would have waited until Spring for all sod/plantings & continued to look for a company I could rely on. If in the Spring, I still chose Sprinkles, I would have refused inferior sod, waited for good sod & required them to install it properly in brick pattern. I had several lawn specialists come to look at the sod & they agreed with me & in fact raised some really bothering issues. For what it is worth, I showed them the sod, got their opinions, & then told them mine. I was fair to Sprinkles. Sprinkles is aware of these issues & has chosen not to address them:
1. The old sod was not prepared as Sprinkles stated in their documentation. S/B sprayed several days prior new sod (Anthony quoted three days). A Sprinkles crewman came late afternoon the day prior to the new sod installation & sprayed grass killer. [I
questioned the crew the next day as to whether the old grass was dead enough & whether the grass killer would hurt the new sod. I was told all would be okay.]
2. The sod they brought was thin & seedy, had lots of weeds, soil base very thin, edges dwindled off with no sharp edges,
& many were also in pieces. [I questioned the crew & they said that it was ?end-of-the-season sod?, but that it would be ok.]
3. Some of the sod that was installed was significantly colored different. [I questioned Sprinkles crew at installation & again questioned Anthony in October when he replaced pieces of dead sod. Unilaterally, I was told that it was fine, etc. ]
4. The incorrect amount of sod was delivered & they had to get more. The additional sod was full, lush, square edges & had a thick soil base. It looked like the sod that my husband & I had installed years ago. [When I questioned the crew as to the difference, they stated it came from a different farm & that by spring the whole lawn would look the same].
5. The installation was done incorrectly. Installation was very loose checkerboard with holes filled in with bits & pieces of scrap sod. Sometimes it was really just the green part & no roots or soil. Correct installation should be in brick fashion which eliminates the straight lines I now have going throughout my back yard. These lines are especially noticeable where the edges of the sod are
thin & uneven & where the sod has died. [I questioned the crew at the time about the holes & the lines & the bits & pieces and, again, they said it would be okay.]
6. Anthony told me to water sod properly (his crew installed, set up sprinkler system, & he personally set the timer) and until I checked with Sprinkles in the Spring do not let anyone walk, cut or put chemicals on the sod (including pre-emergence).
7. I followed Anthony?s instructions to the letter. When Sprinkles came out to turn our sprinkler system on, I asked if the sod could be walked on, cut & chemically treated. I was told that yes I could have it walked on & cut. As to the chemicals, I should be fine with that, but that I should check with the la"

"They arrive early, and do their jobs with a pleasant attitude. If you ask them to do something they happily do it. They were referred to me by my parents who have used them for years. I am pleased with the decision to have them take over the task of managing my yard and would recommend them to anybody who was looking for a lawn service or pest control.
"

"The lawn fertilization went well, however the shrub care and fertilization was a failure. I lost 9 shrubs due to disease, which should have been diagnosed and rectified. All Turf should have notified me as to the problems with the shrubs, but they did not."
