My soil is just as compacted, but there's a small Fit Turf sign in my yard, the vegetation has yellowed, and there are dead ladybugs on my driveway. The sign says WARNING PESTICIDES APPLIED which is extremely troubling, since I am 100% against pesticides and I don't have any grass growing in my yard which would possibly need to be defended from pests. The only pests are telemarketers such as those from Fit Turf. Let me explain. I'm a homeowner. The house was built in the seventies, and apparently there was never a lawn here. We're on a hillside and I'm planning to plant some kind of a ground cover to contain erosion. The soil is clay, interspersed with rocks and thick-stemmed weeds. Fit Turf called, and while I was looking around for my digital tape recorder (I record every telemarketer because we've been on both the state and Federal Do Not Call lists for years, yet telemarketers keep calling. Cynthia Coffman needs to start sueing them, like Arizona's attorney general did, to the tune of $1 million dollars this year) I told the guy I have clay soil, I'm on a hillside, and there is no lawn. He told me he was looking at my house on Google Earth and it looked like my lawn needed some TLC. "That's not a lawn. That's weeds. I mow every week so they don't grow tall enough to incur a fine" I explained. He was happy to hear about my weeds, and launched into his Weed Eradication script. I did telemarketing when I was sixteen, and prewritten scripts haven't changed much--they all have an unnaturally stilted perkiness, if that makes sense. Kind of like the auditory equivalent of **** music. Anyway, I ended up agreeing to a one-time only liquid aeration treatment for forty-someodd dollars. I hadn't done any research on liquid aeration treatments, but the concept was appealing considering that I have clay soil and I'm on a hill. The jury's out on whether anything occurred other than weeds yellowing and ladybugs dying, and us sneezing and hacking up phlegm for a few days after the sign appeared in the front yard."

Bee removals FAQs
Swarms of bees stay for just a few hours, but can remain for two or three days. Under the right conditions, beehives can last indefinitely, as bee colonies are self-sustaining. The queen is the heart of the hive and can live for up to five years. As she ages and her egg production declines, the worker bees replace her by raising a new queen.
Worker bees live up to six months if born in the fall, but only about 40 days when born in the spring or summer. Drones live between three weeks and three months. The queen continuously lays eggs that quickly mature to replace bees that die. Ask your beekeeper or pest control specialist for further details based on the type of bees you have.
Ideally, you should remove a bee's nest very early in the morning or late in the evening when all of the bees are in the hive.
Bees do not fly at night, so although they may buzz and show some activity, they will not fly or swarm. This allows you to remove the entire colony safely in one attempt. While bees may be slightly more active in the early morning or late evening, most will be in the hive, minimizing the number of stragglers left behind.
After complete bee removal, stray workers will not regroup if all traces of honey, comb, and pheromones are thoroughly eliminated.
