I also know that prices for work can vary widely so it pays to get bids. I got four, including one from Alfaro's who had removed a large dying oak from property a couple years ago. They did a great job with that difficult project and they were by far the low bidder on that one. They were not the lowest price this time around but were far cheaper than two of the other bids and close enough to the lowest that I chose them again for this job because as the pictures show it was a very tricky one. Even so I watched the work for the many hours it took to remove this large dying oak inches from my house. While I hope I will not need Alfaro's services again soon (I only have 2 mature trees left) I will not hesitate to recommend Alfaro's Tree Experts to family and friends. Every time it rained for a long period of time I would get water in my basement which is on grade with the back yard. Paul came out with his foreman and a helper and augered out 3 French drains, about 3 feet deep, connected the drains with fex pipe, filled the french drains with rock, buried all the flex piping put down fabric to prevent weeds and put decorative stone over the entire area. They then put topsoil over the entire back area of the yard, fertilized and seeded and covered the area with straw. My back yard looks beautiful and I do believe the drainage probled is gone. <br />"
