"Jeff was here and quoted me $300 to remove stump and said it would take approx: 3/4 of a day. Told him I had a quote for $200 already and he dropped price to $250. Got back to him a few days later and said I would have him do it as the other guy couldn't do it for over a month or better. He was all up for it and said he would call me back next morning and set up for 2 to 3 days out. Never called back so I called him and he said had problem with other equipment and if I wanted to said "hire someone else please". I text him back and said when could he possibly get to it. No response. I rented a grinder, trailer included for 4 hrs. Picked it up 20 minutes away, did stump myself, 20 minute drive back to return. Total time to remove stump that was 90% plus eaten out by bugs, including pick up and delivery was 2 hrs and 40 minutes, not 3/4 of a day. Total cost with tax was $96.30.....NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. This guy is not who he portrays himself to be."

Tripoli was quick to respond to my request for an estimate; the quote was reasonable. Had to wait because they were dealing with much more pressing tree issues after the storm, but just a little over two weeks wasn’t a bad turnaround. I had called on the morning of April 29th about two large bushes and one tree stump removal and was set up for an estimate the following Monday. But nature intervened and I feared our small project would be pushed back far on their roster. He called and arrived on May 2nd to give an estimate since was already in the neighborhood and proposed two additional services which we had not even thought about and were happy to include. And for a very reasonable price. Despite the extent of their continued heavy schedule they were able to fit in this smaller project today, a wait of only two weeks and performed a very fast, tidy, and visually pleasing result. "Doesn't return calls or emails and is unprofessional. He removed the tree but was late grinding the stump, which I communicated from the beginning I needed done in order to lay a foundation for my retaining wall. Not only was he late and didn't communicate when he could come back, he didn't grind it deep enough so we had to pay extra for someone else to come out and finish the job. Below are the email communications with dates and times. You can see that from the project start the timeline was in place and Ray knew I needed the stump removed before the retaining wall foundation could be laid. I told him on Wednesday, June 3 that the wall was going to be removed in the next couple of days and asked how much lead time he needed. I got no response. He did not return any of our calls when we were trying to get him to come out and grind the stump. He didn't respond with a date until June 11 and didn't come out until June 14. If he would have told me he couldn't meet my timeline I could have gotten someone else to do it. I had to hire someone else anyway because he couldn't even grind the stump deep enough for my walls foundation, which would have been nice to know before committing to the project. His price is fair, he does quick work, but he is unprofessional in my opinion and it cost us time and money.
