"They did a very good Job; I also had them do some landscaping around my shed in October this year where they had to remove a lot of old plants and big rocks etc and they put down some fabric and put down some small rocks and they also did a very good job. I had them do landscaping around our new Sun Room and front of the house in late March of this year also and they did a real good job selecting Plants and Trees. They have been doing my lawn work starting in late 2012 and they are very prompt in fulfilling our wishes and they will be taking care of our Lawn in 2014 plus doing more landscaping. <br />"

"I had a lot of dead spots in my lawn from the Great Drought of 2012. Brad came out, assessed the situation, and made a recommendation that he do core aeration, over-seeding using a slicer/slit seeder, and fertilize the new seed. The new grass came up looking beautiful in the fall. I got tons of compliments on the way my lawn recovered. I'll definitely be using his services again this fall, as will several of my friends."

"I had just recently had my lawn fertilized, so the gentlemen that arrived with Kessinger Lawn Care were not able to overseed my yard for fear tht the fertilizer will kill any new grass.  Regardless, they were very friendly and completed the work of aerating my yard quickly.   I would defintely re-hire them this fall for the same service; only better planning on my part was needed. <br />"

"Excellent experience. Their price was 1/2 to 1/3 the price quoted by others, and the work was done very quickly with large equipment. Roy did forewarn us that the large equipment would damage our lawn. However, they were very careful to keep this to a minimum and the damage was easily repaired. We realized after Roy had given us our estimate that a gas line runs right through the middle of the area; however, he did the work for the original price quoted. The replacement dirt appears to be of high quality and was easy to work--looking forward to a beautiful flower garden next year!"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Grammer, IN

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
