"I rarely, if ever give 5 star reviews. But, I DO recommend Maynor Construction (MC)! But, 5 = perfection, and nothing is perfect : ) I hired MC for cement siding and sunroom addition project, beginning in June of 22, ending Sep, 22. I will review the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. But, this doesn't cover everything, because Home Advisor only allows so many characters. Finally, this was my first (major) home improvement project and likely the largest investment I will ever make in my home. The Good - Maynor (owner) is a very knowledgeable and a skilled builder, with many years of experience. I appreciated that he was actually on site many days, not only supervising, but also working along side his team. - The administrative staff was magnificent. Responsive, knowledgeable, friendly, and available. Having the right people in the front office can make or break a business. Hire the right people to manage the office and it will pay dividends toward the success of your company...in my humble opinion. - I had fiber cement siding installed on my home, and a sunroom that replaced an old, broken-down outdoor breezeway. This was no easy project and teams of highly-skilled workers were at my home daily, typically from before 8am until nearly sundown - and even partially on Saturdays. We were blessed with very little rain through the 3 months, which accelerated the work. Maynor's team worked very hard, moved efficiently, and maintained a great level of skill throughout the process. The Bad - For the most part, none of my utilities were affected all that much. Utility boxes were moved away at the beginning, were moved back at the end, and worked just fine. I also had a lot of electrical added and moved throughout the project, but alterations and small inconveniences were to be expected. However, there was a problem when it came to Maynor's (unintended) disruption of my ATT Fiber. While there was no cutting of that fiber, the siding was installed over the fiber and it shut down my internet. Maynor's workers claimed innocence, but it was clearly something for which they were likely responsible. The fiber cable box was moved back into place, and when I got home the internet wasn't working any longer. This required ATT to come out and reinstall the fiber cable and box that came into my house from the outside. - Kitchen flooring fix. I have a very small special strip of (tiled) kitchen flooring that had to be removed during the remodel because I wanted a small portion of a wall removed. Years ago, this strip was created with very cool, colored, (intentionally) broken glass tiles. But, sadly those tiles are no longer available. Happily, I found some of the original kitchen tile that Maynor could break-up into pieces and install into the strip. I approved a change order for Maynor to fill-in that strip of flooring, which required some pretty major cutting of the floor and sub floor. However, they cut the floor crooked and at an unpleasing angle. And, while it is not terrible, it is very noticeable to me and I wish Maynor had done a better to cut the area straighter. I can live with it, but someday I will need to replace the entire kitchen floor to maintain the professional look. The Ugly - While I live in a populated area, with restaurants, a gas station, hotels, etc... workers, laboring in extremely hot summer conditions, even with lots of shade, require lots of hydration. Those fluids need to go somewhere! Unfortunately, there were at least two instances (likely more), I personally witnessed workers finding their own ways to relieve themselves - not inside my home, nor at the gas station just next door. I complained to Maynor and they promptly brought in, at their expense, a Porta Potty, which would remain for the duration of the project. But, I had to ask them to include and only after I discovered what was happening on my property. Ove..."

We had the exterior of our 2-story home painted and rotten/damaged boards around windows replaced. The carpenters were exceptional! Their work is quality and done correctly (not rushed). The painters were wonderful! They were friendly, accommodating, polite,and very good at their job! The office staff was professional and handled any questions with care, patience, and efficiency. I was pleasantly surprised when I came home from work the first day expecting only the prep work to be done, to find the first coat on the walls. "From start to finish <strong>Paul's Painting</strong> provided a <strong>GREAT</strong> experience! After the initial contact, Paul set a date within a week to come by to take a look at the project. He arrived on time and had a binder with other projects he'd done. He took time to look at the project and gave me what I considered to be a very reasonable quote. I told him I'd like to hire him for the project. He left a bzillion color samples for me to have fun with (or be confused by) as I still wasn't sure if I was going to stay with the same colors or try something different. <br /> His services included power-washing and minor repair (reattached loose fascia, secured a couple of deck boards). He did this a few days ahead of time so everything was ready to go the day he arrived to start the project. What I found especially impressive is that he power-washed on a day that was too rainy and overcast for painting - - talk about good time management! <br /> He arrived on the day the project was to begin and got right at it. He works by himself and requires minimal equipment. You can tell he's been doing this for a very long time because he is extremely efficient and has an eye for detail. He painted things I hadn't even noticed about my house nor would have thought to ask him to paint!! <br /> For the most part we had great cooperation from the weather and he was able to move quickly on the house and shed. He even made use of part of the holiday weekend to finish up this part of the project (he told me he might work on the holiday even though I encouraged him to spend the time with his family). <br /> Now for the deck...oh, the deck. I struggled to select a color, and Paul was careful not to lead me, he let me decide and we both thought the sample complimented the house/trim colors. The deck project began and within the hour I anxiously took a peek at how it was going to look. Only, I didn't like it... at all! As the paint dried it wasn't a tone that looked good next to the house color - I was devastated because I knew I'd picked it out and saw the brand new cans of paint setting there ready to go. Well, <strong> Paul's Painting</strong> <strong></strong> is a professional service and he makes no qualms about the fact that customer satisfaction is his utmost goal. So, true to form we discussed my concerns and he agreed that the shade of color could be better. Now what I asked? He asked me to trust him... he wanted to take the paint back and have them add some color to it. I was concerned that he didn't have a mixture to follow. I think his comment was and quot;this isn't my first rodeo.and quot; Which made me laugh and also put me at ease! <br /> He returned with the new paint mixture, started over and I have to tell you... it wasn't his first rodeo! The color was gorgeous - just right and I couldn't be happier! The decks took several days and if I remember right he even worked a weekend day again. <br /> Actually, there is a bit more to the deck story I have to tell you. He was probably within a half-dozen boards of project completion when he ran out of paint. He ran back to the store for the last gallon, returned and when he started painting, the color was off ever so slightly... to me it was barely noticeable. The person who had mixed all of the other cans wasn't available and so the mixture was off just a bit. Unfazed he waited for the right paint and came back to finish the job as only he would see it done! And none of these set-backs cost me an extra dime from his original quote! <br /> I would venture to say that Paul is very likely the best at what he does! I'd also like potential customers to know what great care he took in areas others might not...one was with plants and vegetation near the house and the other had to do with two nesting robins, both with eggs or young chicks that he very carefully worked around. <br /> Please consider Paul's Painting if you need exterior or interior painting done... I'm confident you will be pleased! <br />"

"Overall, the project went okay. However, in looking at the details of the work there were some significant problems. First, there was no effort to scrape exterior window frames before painting them. I had to spend 3 hours scraping windows as the crew simply painted over the old paint which then flaked off. Additionally, they did not caulk all areas where wood came together like the contract called for even after this was brought to their attention. Inside, they failed to treat the trim before painting it so the dark stain is visible. To their credit they have offered to come back and paint it again when requested. I also learned after they left that they had painted a significant portion of the white trim in the foyer. I have since had to go back over and re-paint all of that trim myself."
