"The rep that came out to evaluate my trees and shrubs was very knowledgeable, and noticed problems that I had seen but didn't think were connected. It's going to take some time to resolve the neglect I levied on my yard, but this company does make me confident that everything is manageable and being managed. Peace of mind is valuable, and I feel like I made the right choice."

"The pro has been servicing our Mclean property quite well for a couple of years. Our lawn looks good and we are satisfied with the service. The customer service is sometimes underwhelming but it gets the job done at a reasonable cost which is really becoming harder by the day to get."

"We gave this company multiple opportunities to perform based on their Angi’s ratings even after they did not treat our lawn properly and essentially a combination of grubs plus and excessive spraying of weed killer did massive damage to a lawn we had been looking after meticulously for more than a decade. We also tried to use them for yard work but they charged by the hour and they sent staff who were more focused on complaining about the job they were sent to do and talking on the phone than working on it. This is after waiting for almost a month for them to come. As a result the job took way more hours than needed and we ended up paying a fortune. Overall we had a terrible experience. We do not recommend this provider."

"No license, no permit, one year delay, so many lies. Absolutely the worst contractor I ever dealt with. ONE YEAR after signing the contract for the portico and hundreds of follow-ups, the structure was finally done in February 2026 but we NEVER RECEIVED THE COUNTY PERMIT FOR IT! Somewhere among this mess Kelvin let it slip that he let his builders' license expire! Even though both parties agreed to terminate the other garage project and Kelvin said he'll refund us in full, he ended up keeping our deposit for the garage project to pay for the portico project without our permission, hence he paid himself for the portico project in full, even though he was 6 months behind schedule and STILL owes us the permit. We're talking to lawyers now for Kelvin's multiple breaches of contract. Also he made it sound like we had the worst of luck and this hasn't happened to anyone else, but after I posted my initial review on Yelp, TWO other people reached out to me with similar stories!!!"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Hamilton, VA

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
