"We met Dan months before the project was scheduled to start and he knew our deadline was 7/9 when our first weekly vacation renter was due to arrive. Our main issues were: He was a week late starting Didn't show up on several days (had to take his son to get his COVID shot, several days it was too hot, heavy traffic, etc) Ignored my detailed instructions/drawings and we lost time because he plumed a double vanity for only 1 sink, told us we could buy any standard shower door from Lowe's only to learn AFTER the shower had been framed that it required a custom built door, forgot to tile the accent color stripe in the shower, miscalculated the amount of shower tile needed requiring me to drive 3 hours RT to purchase extra tile and deliver it to him. Skim coat on the ceiling was done poorly, the door to the bathroom didn't open all the way so we had to hire someone after Dan left to shave it down for us. He was supposed to finish by July 9th and didn't finish until Sept 9th!!!! had to give renters $3000 off because they had no toilet or shower. I split the difference with him and took $1500 off his bill and he was not happy. I should have taken the entire amount off. He might be OK for smaller jobs, but he is not focused enough and doesn't work a full day (usually 8 AM -1 PM) or even a full week. If he takes work outside of NH, he should have his plumbing/electrical license so he doesn't have to rely on outside contractors. We suffered because he didn't hold ME licenses and wasn't well connected w/ local contractors in ME."

"I don't think I can say enough about how awesome Marty and his crew are or how grateful I am to them, I'm just beyond glad I found them. I had a vision for what the half bath in my 1800's house could be and no idea of the challenges we'd face with the existing plumbing. Marty, Cory and Leroy went WELL above and beyond what they needed to in order to see the project through, with care and attention to detail every step of the way. "I hired Merrimack Valley Plumbing to install a boiler in my home, and my experience was overwhelmingly disappointing. While the boiler functions, the installation process and quality of work raised numerous red flags. I want to share my experience to help others make an informed decision when considering this company. Installation Issues Code Violations: The exhaust is less than 3 feet from the gas meter, and the holes drilled in the joists for intake and exhaust are less than 2 inches from the bottom, both of which do not meet code requirements. Improper Venting: Both the exhaust and intake vents are installed too close to the ground (not meeting the 12-inch clearance required for expected snowfall) and are too close to each other (less than the 12-inch separation required). Unsealed Penetration: The hole drilled in the siding was left unsealed, creating a potential entry point for rodents. Condensate Drain Issues: The installed condensate pump is leaking and wasn’t tested. Additionally, rather than a permanent drain installation, they daisy-chained it into a pump for a portable air conditioner. Wiring Errors: The zones for the primary bedroom and second floor were wired backward, causing overheating in both areas. Missing Outdoor Sensor: The outdoor temperature sensor, critical for proper operation, was not installed. No CO Alarm: A carbon monoxide alarm was not installed, which is essential for safety. Unprofessional Workmanship: Trash, including a metal duct pipe, was left in the crawl space near live electrical wires. Process Concerns Permit Delays: The company failed to file permits before starting work. I only discovered this after contacting the town permitting office myself. Mismanagement and Delays: The project stretched far beyond the promised timeline, with repeated excuses about missing parts and limited crew availability, despite prior assurances that the job would be completed in two days. Broken Promises: They claimed a project manager would take measurements in advance to ensure a smooth installation, but no one came. Additionally, they rescheduled initially, promising a larger crew, only to send a single plumber on the first day. Misinformation and Deception Throughout the project, I encountered multiple instances where Merrimack Valley Plumbing provided misleading or false information: - They lied about the dates permits were filed. - They claimed delivery issues caused delays, though they should have anticipated these based on the advance photos provided. - They repeatedly shifted blame rather than taking accountability for the delays and issues. Overall Experience While the boiler itself works, the installation was riddled with code violations, safety oversights, and poor workmanship. Additionally, the company’s lack of transparency and repeated dishonesty made an already frustrating situation worse. I would not recommend Merrimack Valley Plumbing to others. Their lack of professionalism, disregard for safety codes, and failure to take responsibility for their mistakes created an unnecessarily stressful and costly experience."

The technician apparently arrived about 1 hour before the window, claimed to have called me but left no message and simply left with no availability during the actual 4 hour window that was promised. This is poor service and I have no heat. Unbelievable and unprofessional."

"Absolutely AMAZING job! We have been searching for a general contractor for almost 6 months to take care of several projects on the exterior of our home. We had worked with Stellar Painting before when our insurance company paid for a door and window repair. After a phenomenal job and a great experience, I called them again to see if, by some miracle, they could handle a list of repairs for the exterior of our home. After coming out, giving an estimate, and providing a start time - I couldn't believe how quickly everything was done! They fixed everything (and that was one heck of a list)! Our deck is so beautiful, I can't stop staring at it. Light poles that a previous masonry company installed are standing tall and proud (versus lump-sided like they have been for years now!) The list goes on. The exterior of our home looks brand new thanks to them. I can't believe how quick and easy it all was.
