Shan-Gri-La Sod Farm is family-owned and operated that started in 1939 as a poultry farm in Willow Grove, PA by my Grandfather Dewey H. Bunch, Sr. In 1967 my father, Dewey H. Bunch, Jr., purchased our farm in beautiful Bucks County, PA and began growing sod. My brother, sisters, and I all worked side by side in the fields with my mother and father learning about the importance of family and hard work, as well as the commitment required to establish and maintain a successful small family business. In 1990 I began the landscape construction division to satisfy customers wanting to deal with one qualified contractor for all of their outdoor needs. We are E.P. Henry authorized paver installers and have had photos of our projects in their catalog each year since 2005. We are currently on E.P Henry's Website where one of our projects is featured as a virtual tour! In 2002, my wife Beth and I purchased the business. Together with our dedicated staff, we still maintain the strong family traditions established over 70 years ago while continuing to adapt to the needs and desires of our modern customers. Today, our son and daughter work on the farm just as my siblings and I did growing up. Fourth generation? We’ll see! Super Service Award winner for 2016, 2015, and 2014. Please call us today to schedule your appointment - (215) 766-7208 or email us at chip@shangrilafarm.com

Michael & Son is family owned & operated and has been servicing the Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC area for over 30 years. We take great pride in providing our customers with the highest quality plumbing services. Our professional and courteous staff are here to help you with whatever projects you need to get done.

"I would like to start with my apologies for the length of this review but I needed to get all of the information down. We have recently purchased a new home. The house did not have a washer and dryer so we needed to make this purchase. When the washer was delivered a leak in the shut-off valves was discovered when the valves were opened. I decided it best to have a plumber take a look and complete the repair on the valves. My wife was home for this repair. I was unable to make the meeting, so she met the plumber. The plumber came in and started with a quote of over $800.00 to replace two leaking shut-off valves. My wife thought that I should talk to the plumber and called me at work. After discussing with the plumber, he stated that the proposed repair was to cut a one foot square in my wall, cut the existing pipes, solder new sections of pipes onto the freshly cut existing ones that had shut-off valves already installed onto the end of them. I explained to him, over the phone, that the process of replacing the shut off valve was to unscrew the old valve from the pipe and screw a new valve onto the old pipe. No soldering was required in this approach and no hole would need to be cut. My solution would only take between 15-30 minutes to complete as to the three hour process he was proposing and should cost less than $300.00 for a plumber to complete. He explained that it was not possible to simply replace the shutoff valves as they were too old (my house was built in the 80s). I had him hand the phone back to my wife and told her that the call was hers as I was done dealing with this guy and ready to tell him to get out of our house. She stated that she would rather have it fixed now and the repair was started. About 30 minutes later, I received another call from my wife stating that the plumber was able to repair just the shut-off valve without cutting the wall. He did this by replacing only the shut-off valves. I asked her if she could see any dripping from the valves when they were opened and she replied that she was unable to verify as the hoses were not attached and that “installing” the washing machine was going to cost $300.00. I told her to hand the phone off to the plumber. I asked him how he was going to verify that his work was completed without screwing the hoses back onto the shutoff valves. He replied that the valves are not leaking and that the water to the house was turned back on. My reply was that the old valves did not leak when they were closed either. We only discovered the leak after the hoses were attached and the valves were opened. I told him that I did not want the washer “installed” but I did want him to check his work by attaching the hoses and opening the valves. I was talking to my wife while this was completed to verify that there were no more issues. She verified that the shut-off valves were not leaking so the payment was processed. When I got home, I took a look to see the finished product and noticed that the plumber screwed the hot lead to the cold supply and vice versa. I also noted that he neglected to replace the housing around the supply lines. It has been four business days since this repair and I have yet to receive a receipt for the work completed and documentation of what I paid. If you made it to the end of this review, you understand that there is no way I will ever call Michael and Son for any work in the future. I hope that my review has given you insight into Michael and Son and you decide the same."

Adam wants to make sure everything is done right and it shows in the quality of Chip Chop's work. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. I will absolutely use them again and will definitely be recommending them to others."

FAQs for weed control service projects in Hatboro, PA

To choose a weed removal service, make sure they have a license to do the job. Weed-killing chemicals are dangerous, and most states and counties require licenses for professional weed control. Check for the appropriate license on the company’s website and social media pages, or call and ask them directly. Otherwise, read customer reviews online and look for potential red flags in the Better Business Bureau’s company database. Finally, call them and ask about their treatment rate, experience level, and client testimonials.

Before the weed removal pro arrives, have your yard’s total square footage ready and note any accessibility issues like steep slopes or rocky areas. Inform them if you know the types of weeds present, as this affects treatment. Mention any preferences for eco-friendly or pet-safe herbicides. Lastly, discuss scheduling that fits your routine and ask for an estimate and timeline.

Consider tackling other lawn maintenance tasks when scheduling weed removal. Lawn care tasks like mowing, general yard work, and pest control are performed well with weed control services. It’s also an excellent opportunity to start landscaping projects like planting an herb garden or adding decorative stones to enhance your yard.

Manually pulling weeds offers immediate, chemical-free results and targets specific weeds without affecting other plants. It's ideal if you prefer eco-friendly methods and have concerns about children or pets. Herbicide sprays tackle large infestations and deep-rooted weeds more efficiently but involve chemicals. Choosing between them depends on your lawn’s needs and your preferences.

After applying herbicide, most weeds begin to show signs of wilting or discoloration within a few days to a week. Complete weed death often occurs within two to four weeks, depending on the type of herbicide used and the weed species. This timeline allows you to schedule follow-up treatments or lawn maintenance to promote healthy, lasting results.
