Small jobs welcome

"Our oak trees look great after their trim today. Our neighbor texted me to say "Your trees look amazing!" Miguel is highly skilled at tree trimming and tree climbing. As he was cutting up in our trees another man was cleaning up the debris below so it only took a few hours to complete the job with two very tall live oaks. They left our property clean and neat. Miguel seems very pleasant and professional and is licensed and insured. After they left I did find some small broken branches on our purple sage bushes by our mailbox where debris had apparently fell on them which is difficult to prevent when trimming up above. The bushes should be fine but maybe in the future if some type of enclosure could be put over smaller bushes like sage bushes and sego palms to protect them from falling tree debris and be sure to remove items like windchimes before cutting. Overall great service and will definitely hire him and his team again soon to remove some smaller trees in our backyard. "

"In mid-September Nick, service manager for flower beds, for Emerald Lawns quotes my husband for cleaning up, removing and replacing weed fabric, and rocking the front flower beds. He said that he would let us know prior to starting a job and it would be a couple of weeks. 10/3 the crew showed up to complete the job without any communication. They did not do what was asked and was only here for 90 minutes. From then until November 17 my husband and/or I called and spoke with the front office staff to have someone come and look at the job that was completed incorrectly. 11/14 I was contacted by Nick, the branch manager, and was informed that he would come by the following week. 11/18 he came by and spoke with my husband. He was in agreement that the job was done incorrectly and assured us that he would get this fixed. He mentioned that they were putting up Christmas lights, and so it would probably be a couple of weeks until his crew could get to it of which is completely understanding."

"The pro has been servicing our Mclean property quite well for a couple of years. Our lawn looks good and we are satisfied with the service. The customer service is sometimes underwhelming but it gets the job done at a reasonable cost which is really becoming harder by the day to get."

"It was discussed at the beginning that their crew will come and look at the sprinkler problem and give me a quote. after the review they gave me a sky rocketing quote ($5000-$6000) so i decided to move on with some other company, they fixed the problem in less than $500. two months down the lane I receive $125 an invoice for inspection which I was told that they would just come out and give me a quote, no cost for inspection. Unfortunately, there is no email or txt about this so I can't prove it. The person at the front desk apologizes for the miss communication, but i still have to pay for it. I would not recommend this company. Make sure to get everything in written if you are going with them."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Helotes, TX

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
