"*Many major issues with the work completed. *A lot of sloppy work , indifferent workers *The sub flooring was not installed or not properly installed causing adjoining room floors to be different levels than the newly installed floor. The previous flooring was level with all rooms throughout the 1st floor. *There are 3 significant "bumps" in flooring as the sub flooring was not installed or properly installed. Standard industry practice ;of leveling out bumps was not followed. SEE HOME DEPOT Instructions. *Contractor would not fix floor and simply installed high sills which are a tripping hazard in the same doorways for we had widened by contractor since we are over 70 with limited mobility, *Damaged stairs when removing old materials *Charged for services not done and for materials not used *Did not replace 60 year old sink/toilet shut-off valves when "modernizing bathrooms. *Water lines installed by contractor broke two times. *Work failed Building Inspection and contractor indicated he would not fix issues, he said "he was moving on". *Anderson windows installed were the wrong size ;54" instead of the 48" as other existing windows in house. *Four new doors were installed and one is different than the other 3. Two facing doors at end of hall do not match each other. *Tile work in new bathroom is not fully level and spacing of grout work is inconsistent. Contractor did try to correct but still a problem."

Jeff assured me that, no matter what the temperature, his crew could do my enormous Queen Anne Victorian (62 windows) in a half day. He recommended removal of the screens to make the house look beautiful, and it was a great suggestion. We have original windows on the front, and they are 129 years old. The crew was thorough and gentle, and I was thrilled with the job. We cleaned the interior windows ourselves to stay within budget and simplify the prep, but Gem's crew did "in and out" for the kitchen skylight and five basement windows, as well as a few that the crew must have felt demanded their touch. I can't say enough for their good work and positive attitude, given that the weather was frigid, they were pulled to fill in for another crew, and I wanted all the screens to be labeled (I followed him and labeled them myself). I wish I had found them years ago, before selling the house, which sold in two days :-) And yes, they even honored an Angie's List coupon!"
