Rainbow Home Improvements has been in business and serving Pierce and South King Counties since 1984. Owner Bernard (Ben) Heisterkamp emigrated from the Netherlands in 1980, has lived in Pierce County since 1982 and has been a licensed contractor since 1984 (license number: RAINBHI168ME) He specializes in kitchen and bath remodeling, interior finish carpentry, ceramic tile and laminate work, but is experienced in most phases of construction. He is a hands-on contractor, an old school craftsman with over 25 years of experience in residential remodeling, who prefers to do most of the work himself and takes great pride in his work. When necessary he will subcontract plumbing, electrical or drywall work, but all work will be carefully supervised. Quality control is his utmost priority. Remodeling is stressful for homeowners. There is dust, noise, change in daily routines and invasion of privacy. Ben will make all efforts to keep disruptions to a minimum. He will also consult with you throughout the project, explain choices and offer suggestions to make sure that the end result will meet your expectations and that he can add you to his list of happy customers. If your home is built before 1979, it might possibly contain lead paint. We are prepared to deal with the lead dust that can be generated by remodeling activities. Additional time is invoiced at an hourly rate, plus the cost of materials needed. Shirey Home Pro also offers design-build remodels that handle all aspects of your project, from conception through completion. Our goal is to build the kitchen or bath of your dreams. We are here to be your personal contractor for whatever your home needs - no matter how big or small your project is.
"We have had Shirey for two projects. The first was a few years ago when they fixed a roof leak around our fireplace that a couple of other contractors had already tried to fix and had failed. We have had NO leaks since Shirey worked their magic! The second project was just completed this fall. We have three short sets of stairs between our driveway and the front door and I wanted nice-looking metal railings installed on them. Shirey found a customer railing manufacturer and worked with him to make the railings and then installed them for us. I love that it was one-stop-shopping for us. They look great and now I won’t worry about our friends and family falling as they make their way to our front door!"
