He worked very skillfully and carefully to section the branch and lowered the trunk pieces onto the ground away from our house. He is very responsive to our call for service, came to price out the job the next day, and had the job done two days later. I highly recommend his service!!!!!"

"Unimpressed by the service and company and would absolutely not currently recommend. While it was stated by the owner that a written proposal would be provided, none was ever given to clarify the verbal proposal he initially provided, red flag there right from the start. The two workers that showed up were nice enough initially. But it was disputed by one of them that the largest limb to be cut was part of the original quote. He stated that the original price would more than double if the limb in question were removed, largely due to it being more difficult for him to work on. When he communicated about it with the owner by cell phone, the owner changed his position from what he initially told me verbally and supported the worker. I let that be at the time rather than arguing about it, and instead suggested the quick removal of a couple of other much smaller dead limbs (which was done) to partly take the place of the much larger limb that was originally verbally stated would be removed for the original price. And with that sequence of events, the worker and/or owner still chose to raise the original price some due to the "extra" work performed. I went through with the process largely because the timing of when the owner finally followed up with me (he did not originally follow up with me when he said he would) was advantageous to my schedule at the time. But in hindsight it was certainly a mistake on my part. I should have gone with a clarified written proposal I received instead, where for basically the same price the largest limb (still there and still a concern) would have been removed. Cleanup by the company was not very good either, plus at the time of this submission (more than a month later) I have still not received an invoice through e-mail that I was told I would receive soon afterward. Last but not least, one of the workers apparently left a climbing rope on a vacant property adjacent to mine. I noticed it a day or two later and picked it up, not being sure whom it belonged to because other tree work was done on that same property by a different company very recently. But I did eventually get a call from the owner of Charros who confirmed the rope was his. And when he came by to pick it up and we talked for a minute in an effort to settle things with a hope of avoiding posting a review like this, not only did he continue to deny what he stated in his initial verbal proposal, but then he also essentially accused me of trying to steal his rope. That pretty much sums up my experience with this company."

"I hired Tomax on the basis of recommendations made on Nextdoor and am glad I did. Tom is a real professional who asked me to get him all the drawings for my backyard so that they could remove the tree and stump without harming any water or electrical lines. Tom also had the utility service come out to make all lines. The tree was taken down by Tom and his crew professionally and cleanly, and then the stump was expertly and carefully removed by Joe, who also cleaned up afterwards. Tomax is the best!"
