"I hired Green Tree to install a curtain drain and do some minor grading for my backyard and side yards in order to address issues related to standing water in my yard. If I could review them for just the curtain drain, I would say they did a decent job. However, there were several items during the project that were deficient. First, the customer service and communication were really bad. I understand that there has been a hard time finding reliable workers in the industry, but the project was pushed back several times without any notice. I had to continue following up with them not only to begin the project but to also finish the project. Trying to get a hold of someone to provide a straight answer for when they would actually come to do the work I hired them for (or to finish the job) was painstaking. The project not only took multiple days to complete, but I had to continue following up with them on a week-to-week basis to make sure they were coming to finish the job. Second, the grading work was not well done. They drove machinery through my front yard, side yard, and backyard in order to install the curtain drain but when they top dressed afterwards, there were still ruts from the machinery left in the front yard, side yard, and backyard, which obviously messed up the grading. When I asked them to come back and fix the ruts, they top dressed some more but only in the side yard, and it only made it even and no longer pitched away from my house. The front yard still had ruts in it from the machinery that I had to fix myself. Third, the reseeding was very poorly done. As I mentioned previously, I had to follow up with Green Tree several times to make sure they would come back to finish the job. When they first reseeded the yards, they told me that they had run out of straw and seed and would come back the next day to bring more. I had to follow up multiple times about this before they came back. The seeding and mulching with straw was very inconsistent. In some sections, the straw was overly thick and actually prevented the seed from growing, and in other sections, they completely missed putting down straw. I had to reseed many sections, and in fact the portions I reseeded ended up looking better. Not sure if it was their seed, mulch, or top dressing, but wherever I did not reseed had more weeds than grass. Overall, what I will say is that they offered competitive pricing and they did an okay job with installing the curtain drain. But everything else was severely deficient. They did end up crediting back some money for what they failed to do, but frankly, I would not hire them to do another job because of the entire experience."

"I made the absolute right decision going with Yard Right [Y.R.]! Mark and his son Matt were great! Mark & crew showed up on the appointed day, even though a crew member quit that same morning, worked all day, and was consistent regarding this work ethic for the duration of the project. Initially Mark estimated that the job would take 4 days, but because he had one less employee, for the first few days, the project took almost 7days. While Y.R. did manage to get additional help for two days, even short handed they never miss a beat. Along the way, I decided that I wanted stepping stones from the walking paths to the backyard, wood timber to trim around the back shed fencing, moving several boulders to accent the new pathways, etc.. Although the extra items pushed the final cost over my initial budget, it was well worth it. For the services rendered, it was great value for the money! I really appreciated that Mark did the work himself. Several owners indicated they’d send their workers and would come out to oversee the work, which I wasn’t comfortable with. But Mark was here each and every day and was fully engaged in the work, from the first shovel to the last brick. And talk about keeping his composure under pressure—having to deal with my ideas and changes, or watching my pup eat part of a crew member’s lunch, or mashing his finger when we were hunting for stepping stones—whatever it was, Mark kept going with a smile and good spirit. On the last day, he even picked up cinder blocks for me for another project only to find that they were the wrong blocks and then had to drive back across town to return them. This guy is as good as gold!! My next door neighbor who does his own brick work commented on what a great job Mark had done, as has several of my other neighbors. I’m very happy with the work that was done. I would definitely hire Yard Right Landscaping LLC again for landscaping work."
