"Work included taking down 5 large pittosporum bushes and hauling off brush, adding 1' edging to front walk, creating new path (about 10' x 3'), and taking up and re-laying patio stones. They did a good job with everything and finished very quickly. We got 4 estimates; Gomez and one other had the lowest at $2,000."

"It went well. Initially they came by to just mow the lawn but he let me know he could help with other tasks and even gave recommendations on plants. The prices were also reasonable."

"Work performed well. A little pricey, but the back yard tree was very, very large and was accessed through a small fence gate. Couldn't get any large equipment up to the tree. So, remains had to be hauled out by hand. So, to be expected considering that."

"I observed a special in Angie's List for $300 for labor to install a back-splash.  I ordered and paid for this service back in early February for a Valentine's gift for my wife.  I received a receipt but never heard from the provider for over 30-days.  When I called the provider there excuse was that they had many requests for the same special and were overbooked.  This does not excuse the fact of not calling the customers and letting them know or when they can be scheduled.  I could tell that the provider was not adequately staffed and relied on one person for every response.  Eventually, a month and half later, the provider came to our residence and took measurements and told us they would get back with us for the amount of back-splash tiles needed for our kitchen.  Another month later, a service person showed up at our residence wanting to do the back-splash.  We had to turn them away because we never received the amount needed to purchase the back-splash tiles.  Two days later, I received the amount needed to purchase.  The service person returned and did a wonderful job installing the back-splash and stayed late to get the job completed for us knowing the difficulties we had with the provider.  Overall, I appreciated the service person doing a fantastic job with install but I would never refer this provider to another person due to their lack of responsiveness and care for their customers."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Lockhart, TX

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
