"I found TLS Painting on Angies List. I was immediately impressed with Tyler when he came out to give me an estimate. I needed painting done, but also repair of damage done due to extreme sun exposure. Tyler pointed out areas that needed repair and was knowledgeable in those areas as well. I was really pleased with everything that he did, and felt that his bid was very fair. I would not hesitate to recommend Tyler and TLS Painting and would definitely use them again in the future!"

"Geordie McBain presented himself as an alert, focused and professional painter. I had, after meeting the other two area painters recommended on Angies List, mentally selected Mr. McBain as the only one I would trust to do the best job on my beloved little house. I even solicited a second opinion from a painter outside of the Paradise-Chico area as to McBain's qualifications. The other (distant) painter was hoping to do the job himself, but after he heard who I had in mind (McBain), he wholeheartedly recommended I use Geordie McBain. Geordie worked closely with me during this time of intermittent rain and clear days to attempt to fit in the required week or so of estimated time to complete the paint job. Geordie also recommended a local carpenter to fix the problem areas that were above his expertise. The carpenter (Jeff Friendshuh), also did excellent work. My house was ready a couple of days before the weather break occurred in late January, 2011. When the weather break occurred, Geordie was there! He agreed to prepare, prime and (double-coat) paint the entire exterior of my house. He also agreed to "BACK ROLL" all the painted surfaces. Back rolling is the use of a roller AFTER the paint is sprayed onto the surface. Back rolling forces the paint, or in my specific case, the primer application, into the "pores" or open spaces of the wood surface. Back rolling is very important for the first coat on a wood or porous surface to weather-seal it. He was the highest bid by a few dollars, but as I have already stated, he was the most competent of the three painters I met. I wanted Behr's Premium Plus exterior used because of the excellent ratings received in Consumer Reports (June 2010). I agreed to purchase the 2 -3 five gallon containers of body paint and 2-3 gallons of trim necessary."

"From initial contact to completed service, Loren and Anthony were prompt, courteous, and thoughtful. Loren met with me within hours of contacting him. I showed him the drywall repairs I needed (and there were several). He took notes and asked questions. I received an organized and very reasonable bid from by that evening. That alone was excellent follow-through. The work was promptly scheduled. He and Anthony arrived promptly for work. Loren reviewed the needed tasks with Anthony and the job was underway. Follow-up of the completed job was prompt, efficient, and a good business practice. <br /> I am extremely pleased with the results. I attribute this to the quality, care, and consideration of details by High Country Construction. I will definitely call Loren for any jobs I may have in the future. <br />"

"The heater they supplied was a good one.  However, they sent an inexperienced repairman to replace the heater.  He slipped and fell through our newly remodeled bathroom.  The company repaired the hole in the wall with the wrong texture and then wrong the  type of grout.  We are going to have ceiling repaired by a company recommended by the my daughter who works for one of the largest builders in the country.  I have cancelled my service with the warrantee company.  I now have to pay an additional $150.00 to have the ceiling refloated and all the wrong grout taken off and replaced with the correct type. <br /> <br /> *In response to service provider response: We hired 1 contractor that they recommended. He came out and said that he did a lot of work for High Tech. He fell through the ceiling that same day. We called High Tech the same day. They wanted my husband to go up in to the ceiling to get a model number. He is 79 years old and could not do that. We then had to contact a different service provider and pay an extra $150.00."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Los Molinos, CA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
