"If I could give this company a 6 out of 5 stars I would! They did a fantastic job overhauling my mother's deck, back patio, fencing, and front portico. All of the work was absolutely essential for safety and structural reasons, and I'm so glad I chose OSSA to do the work. My mother has Alzheimer's, which presented additional issues, but the entire crew was incredibly kind, respectful, and understanding of the unique challenges they faced. They were responsive and kept me aware of everything regarding the job along the way. My mother is so pleased, and I have the peace of mind that all of her outdoor space is safe, beautiful, and accessible. I will be hiring OSSA to do some work in my own home, as I look to make necessary improvements in the future. I've told everyone I know how how wonderful they are. 6 out of 5 stars!"

"My deck replacement project was a guinea pig of HD exterior’s non-validated new crew (Owner admitted that he hired a new carpenter crew). This is a serious quality control issue. The estimated price was median based on few quotes. The actual build started on 9/21 and ended on 10/17 due to multiple issues. It seems like HD exterior is “busy” enough that they are no longer caring about their reputation as you see from older reviews. It was acceptable that current pandemic caused a broken communication between employees within company. However, I captured multiple typos and errors during the documentation and permitting stage (e.g. HOA). During the construction stage, I highly recommend to watch and appeal the daily progress to ensure the quality work, or they will miss something or conceal what they made a mistake. Until I ask a question, I didn’t received any explanation about entire actual build process. After their “proposed completion” on 10/5/20, there was “no final walkthrough with the company staff” on over $14k project. I found 20+ error and issue points (e.g. missing caps, misalignment, non-secured post, and more), but just received finance approval signature request over email and I recognized my deck was completed. Simply, HD exterior crew ran away. These crews are trespassed my backyard without checking in and randomly visited without notice (I thought it is a normal process, but it was not!). Finally, the majority of issues are resolved after direct communication with the owner of this company. If you are looking for a professional detailed work, this is not a right company who left tons of construction debris, screws and nails in my backyard (doesn’t understand the meaning of cleaning for their work).The crew was not careful with handling materials that I’m still seeing popped out nails, screws, cracks, and temporarily covered holes on lumbers and materials due to their mistake. “Necessary post work for owner after the construction” – I had to wash gravel yard and filtered all debris from it. Used shop vac to clean up composite debris. Filled sunken holes around posts and removed all abandoned dirt. Overall, I have a deck that reflected my requested design, but having doubt on “how long it will last” now."

"DO NOT use this company. I went through Lowes to have a composite deck built. Working with them was an absolute nightmare. It took them 3 months to even START the job. I discovered the reason for the delay is because when they filed the permit (which took them 6 weeks to do), the contractor's license was expired. It then took them another 5 weeks to update their license in order to get the permit. They ordered and installed a completely differently railing style than what was on the contract/design, then blamed me for the mistake. Rather than ordering a new product, they cut the existing one to make it work. I am now 9 months post project, and the railing has warped, the deck is sloped, and the overall quality is horrible. Worst of all, turns out they NEVER GOT IT INSPECTED! I learned that Lowes had to fire them due to MULTIPLE issues with the company. I am thankful I have Lowes to help rectify the issues, but if i didn't, I would be pursuing legal action against them!"

"We learned about AVEC through friends who have a beautiful screened-in porch, and we later contracted AVEC to build us a new deck and screened-in porch. The whole experience was fantastic, and AVEC was very attentive to our needs and worked closely with us at every step. We now have a deck and porch that exceed our expectations in every way and is so nice that we are already spending much of our time there just enjoying it. With all of the professional touches (skylights, recessed lights, wall-mount stainless steel heaters, tongue-in-groove wood on the house wall and ceiling, Trex decking and wrapped columns, etc.) it really looks much more like an addition to the house rather than a just a standard deck/porch. The deck and porch really transform the whole house. There are four individuals we worked with on a regular basis. Alex was the first person we met and we liked him from the get-go. He is extremely personable and knowledgeable, exactly the kind of person to best manage customer relations. There were never any big issues really but even the little concerns we had Alex always sorted out quickly and professionally. He always had time for us and took care of us. He is just an outstanding person. He was, for us, the face of the company, and we couldn't have been happier working with Alex and getting to know him as a person. Hernan was the on-site manager and got everything going (demolition, footers, and decking footprint) prior to taking some planned vacation. He was excellent. We remember him saying 'you can't see this yet in your minds but I can and it is really going to be a beautiful structure'. He was correct. Then there are Rudy and Melki, the two men who essentially built the entire thing. They were wonderful. Very courteous, very friendly, very helpful, very responsive. Rudy is a genius, and his years of experience working in this field really showed - there was nothing he could not do. Rudy was very good at explaining things. Melki was also incredible— soft-spoken and confident. These men are physically strong and extremely hard-working. There are often multiple ways to do something and Rudy always asked us which way we wanted it done. They never took shortcuts. They always took time before leaving to clean up the job site. If we wanted something a certain way, even if it was not really the standard way that they normally did things, they would accommodate us. For example, the stairs down off the deck are normally built a certain way but we had a faucet that we wanted to be on a landing so they re-engineered things and built some custom stairs that are just perfect. We talked with them every day and came to enjoy interacting with them so much that we actually missed that when the job was over. Thank you AVEC for transforming our house in such a beautiful way. We could not be happier with the outcome."
