"First of all, Davis Painting is extremely well organized. (We had previously had them power wash both porches.) Previously the floors had not been properly painted and the steps had not been treated at all, so they needed sanding and primer as well as paint and stain. Colby, the owner, explained how this would be done and made sure the color would match. He got us on their schedule right away. The crew showed up early and went straight to work. The result looked better than new! Their attention to detail was meticulous and it's evident that they take pride in their craftsmanship. We will certainly call on them for future painting needs and recommend them."

"They were wonderful, I have nothing bad to say about them at all. In fact, we have recommended them to several people already. They were efficient. We had somebody else in here that was painting first and after a couple of rooms, we just said no, get out. They did a bad job. <br /> They did a good job, they repaired everything that needed to be repaired. They cleaned up after themselves. They didn't get paint on my furniture or floors like the other place was. They just had a good attitude. They worked well together. We were just really pleased with the whole thing. I would tell others that once you use them for painting, you won't use anybody else. They are really good. <br /> The company that we were letting go was charging us $2000.00 more so we thought that their prices were very fair. <br /> They started the day after I called them. They came when they said they would be here and that's the same time they showed up everyday until they were done. They were very professional about their job and had a good attitude."

"The fellows that came to work were great - on time, worked a full day, pleasant to have about the place, and very skilled at their jobs. They pressure washed the house, did some constuction on my front porch, took down some old construction on a side deck, replaced a set of steps on my back deck, painted the front porch and two decks as well as the railings and bases on each and repainted my barn. I also had them replace my roof which had extensive hail damage and their estimate was actually less than the insurance maximum. I had been and quot;burnedand quot; badly in the past with and quot;handy men or home repair menand quot; so I really appreciated the level of professionalism that I found working with Steve Burnett's company. I thought that the pricing was fair and continue to be pleased with the work that they did. <br />"

"We have a rental house that was left in a terrible mess after some rentors moved out. I had a flyer that was left on my door a couple of weeks ago from Posey Painting so I gave them a call. The owner came by the next afternoon to look at the place and give me a price. I explained that I needed to get the house ready to rent as soon as possible. Mr. Posey and his wife started the job on Friday, worked Saturday, Sunday and Monday to get it ready for me. He pressure washed the ouside and did all of the painting that needed to be done. I didn't know that they were going to clean up as much as they did. They even did some things for me we didn't even discuss when he gave me the estimate. Like taking away the trash that was left in the house (and there was alot of it!) And after everything was done, he looked at the refrigerator and told me why it wasn't working. I feel like I got more than my moneys worth."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Montgomery, AL

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
