A 1/3 horsepower was needed because anything stronger would not be ideal. They don't carry any 1/3 HP disposals. So after a quote for $500+ for GD replacement and $200+ for rodding the drain, the estimate all totaled was near $800! Paid the fifty bucks for the house call but declined to pony up the rest. Called a local handyman who opened up the disposal and removed the problem without replacing it for $40. works fine - and he unplugged the drain. Buyer beware of stings like this from companies who take advantage of customer ignorance."
