"<strong>He removed the grass and made sure the surface was completely flat and solid before placing the tiles with the appropriate amount of sand for stability.  In addition he had to redo a brick border against my deck and rearrange my sprinklers.<br /> Martin has done many jobs for me over the past 10 years like  reinforcing my fence with new posts,  replace planting beds, and most recently replaced 300 feet of grass with medium cobblestones in my front yard thus eliminating the sprinklers. In addition, his team takes care of my lawns on a weekly basis.</strong> <br />"

"It went very well.  Excellent customer service.  When part of the new lawn did not take, they replaced it.  A couple of the plants did not take and they are going to replace them.  The crew were very professional.  They were working in very hot weather we were experiencing at that time.  When the job was completed we were very happy.  The front yard looks so different with the dry bed creek going through the yard.  We have had many compliments about our front yard.  People were even taking pictures of the front yard because they too loved the design. <br />"

"<p>As usual Chad did an outstanding job. Everything was neat and tidy when he left. My wife talked to him about trimming a lime tree which he did to her satisfaction. It is easy to communicate with Chad.</p> <p>He is very knowledgeable about garden matters. In the past he has made a number of repairs to our sprinkler systems and laid a new rear lawn. He has also planted a plum tree which is flourishing. He regularly prunes shrubs for us.We both have some mobility issues so Chad often moves heavy objects around the garden for us.</p> <p>I would have no hesitation in recommending his services.</p> <br />"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in New-Almaden, CA

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
