"I can't say enough good things about Brad Miller.  We had only worked with him once last fall for a small chore, but due to injuries in my household I decided to see if he could help us with a final yard cleanup this season.  I know how busy these guys get this time of year, so I didn't hold high expectations that he would be available.  I left him a voicemail and sent an e-mail with details. <br /> He was prompt in getting back to me, talked through my needs, and assured me he could help.  He originally talked about splitting my work between mowing/edging and then coming back to do the beds at a later date, but I was pleasantly surprised when he came and took care of everything in one visit in a few hours. <br /> The yard looks great and I can breathe easier knowing it is one less thing to manage until spring.  Pricing was very fair, quality services, professionalism unmatched, and most importantly he was respectful to my wife and she had nothing but nice things to say about Brad. <br />"

"I had just recently had my lawn fertilized, so the gentlemen that arrived with Kessinger Lawn Care were not able to overseed my yard for fear tht the fertilizer will kill any new grass.  Regardless, they were very friendly and completed the work of aerating my yard quickly.   I would defintely re-hire them this fall for the same service; only better planning on my part was needed. <br />"

"Our experience with King's landscaping was very positive.  I set up a time tor them to mulch one month before and we determined that Brandon (Operations Manager) would check with me to firm up the delivery time which he did.  I appreciated his follow up.  <br /> Brandon's team arrived when they said that they would and worked thru until the job was done.  Brandon and I walked our property before hand so that he and his crew knew exactly what was to be mulched and edged. <br /> Every time that I asked a question of Brandon or his crew member they would always answer  respectfully any question that I had.  Every request was followed to the letter and his men had me look at there work to make sure that they were doing it the way that I wanted it done. <br /> They not only made sure that the mulch was not setting right up against our house were it would touch wood.  But they also took extreme care to make sure that new plantings were not covered over by mulch."

"I made contact via email and followed up by phone. They were courteous as I placed my order. They set a time frame for the service call. At the correct time the Tech called in advance and then showed up as scheduled. Rick was the service tech and he was prompt and especially careful to put on foot protectors and use drop cloths where he worked. He was finished quickly and went over the bill. It was as quoted. I used an Angie?s List coupon and got a discount. Great service & great value. Better than most other service experiences."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in New Castle, IN

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
