"Excellent service. The pruning of the 2nd oak tree and the Hawthorne tree was done one day, and all other work done the next day. The 4-person crew was very professional, kind, and respectful of the property. The large oak I had removed was right up against a new fence, and not far from the side of my house. And, it was not in an area to get a bucket truck nearby. They arrived right on time at the start of the day and worked hard with minimal breaks - very impressive. They ground the stump from the large oak as well as grinding a couple of leftover stumps from previously removed holly trees. Their cleanup was superb! They even blew stuff off the top of my roof! And the wood cut down was nicely rolled together - not just dumped into a large messy clump! And, they were cheaper than another bid I got from a company here on Angie. I cannot recommend them high enough."

"The bid for the tree removal was very competitive. The pre-job walk-down and estimate included Safely Rig Down One Section section at a time. The branches were rigged down. However, the top was brought down in a 20+ section freefalling from 50+ feet in a huge crash. The remaining sections of the trunk were brought down in 10 to 14 sections, not rigged down. They were dropped from a height, causing damage to my irrigation system and deeply gouging my yard. Some of the large trunk sections rolled out into the street, which is definitely not safely brought down. The tree service then brought in heavy equipment to skid out the trunk sections. The heavy equipment was not mentioned in the estimate, and permission was not requested to operate the equipment on my property. The first skiddier/grapple was too small for the size of the trunk section and broke its track as the operator was trying to skid out / push / roll the trunk sections into the street. The tree service was able to remove the broken skidder and brought in a larger skidder/grapple and loaded out the remaining trunk sections. In addition to the irrigation damage, the heavy equipment deeply gouged the soil in my yard as it was operating. The large tree debris such as branches was removed, however, there was a significant amount of sawdust and other small debris which was left in place. This damaged many of the nearby landscaping plants due to being buried, and over-mulching in the hot weather. The log sections were dropped in an unsafe, unrigged manner well outside of the agreed-upon drop zone This in addition to the use of heavy equipment caused significant damage to my existing landscaping. All plants in the work area were crushed, scraped, or otherwise significantly damaged. Since the tree removal, I have spent many hours of my own time performing damage control on my irrigation and landscaping to start to recover from the tree removal activity. The estimator did not let us know ahead of time how extensive the work area would be. Had they done so, we could have moved many plants, to avoid this collateral damage. It is unlikely that I would hire Monkey Tree Service LLC again unless I had zero concern for any nearby plants, landscaping, irrigation, or retaining walls. I have reached out to Monkey Tree service regarding the non-safe rigging and use of heavy equipment, but have not heard back."

"I needed a tangled bunch of trees & undergrowth cleaned out of an area of fence row that borders my yard. Additionally, my yard service (who doesn't haul away refuse themselves) has been piling clippings & pruning debris along the same fence for 2-3 years creating a very significant collection of debris I also needed removed. I was skeptical that I could get someone to complete both the trimming/tree removal & debris removal at the same time. Fortunately, Cabrera's was one of the first services who responded to my bid request & Martin stated that he could take care of the entire job. He gave me a very competitive bid & we set a date for the work to be completed. A day or two later Martin called to ask if he & his crew could start the work earlier than scheduled, which was great. The tree trimming aspect of the job turned into more tree removal than either of us had originally thought because more of the trees were dead or in bad shape & clearly needed to come completely out. Also, removal of the piles of debris was more involved due to the age & density of the materials as well. Martin gave me a revised bid which was very fair for the additional work needed and the entire project was completed in less than two days onsite. This job was not an easy mix of requirements & Martin did a great job with it. I would not hesitate to hire him again for any tree trimming or removal projects I have."
