Joseph "Nolan" King started J.N.King Lawn Care in Alexandria, Virginia and has been servicing the community and residents there with landscaping and lawn maintenance. "I withheld writing this review for nearly 3 months in hopes that Nolan would make things right; unfortunately that is not the case. We paid Nolan and his crew of 3 high school students $2,000 for approximately 3.5 hours of work. He did directly express to me that finding qualified help was hard and that his staff did not know the difference between a weed and a plant. I can attest that it is true that he does not have a qualified staff. On our contract was for the following: yard cleanup (removing sticks, leaves, pre-bagged debris), mulching edging and weeding beds, aerating the lawn and seeding, and two mows. He asked I pay in full before the work started. Which I did. I should have known better. I generally trust people and this experience has taught me otherwise. He did not pull any weeds, simply weed whacked and covered with old dried out mulch, left entire areas full of leaves and debris, failed to fully mulch the beds. He destroyed many of our annuals, with weed whackers and despite promising to make it right and replace them, never did. He was hostile, impolite, and often non responsive despite many attempts to ask he simply execute on the work that was promised to us. It was like pulling teeth to try and get him to make it right; he never did. This was a big expense for our family and I felt stolen from. I ended up doing the work myself, buying an additional 48 bags of mulch to account for the mulching that was not done, and replacing the plants that were ruined. If not for the quality of the work I would advise against using this company on principle alone - Nolan is not an honest person and I hope you are not the next person to lose money to him."
