"I took my boat there at the end of the 2021 season for a basic etec 200hr and lower unit oil service. I was having no issues with the motor. First, I was greeted outside by the rudest person I had ever met, explaining that he didn't have time for me and walked away. I followed him inside when the receptionist indicated not to worry about him and they would help me out. I scheduled the service with the statement the 200hr service was $450-$500. Well after two weeks and $750, I figured, whatever I'll pay it. In addition, the gentleman in the office when I picked up the boat indicated there were NO issues with the motor. This is a weekend recreational, low hour (600) boat. I used it probably 10 times, approx. 100hrs during the 2022 season. This past season, 2023 and even less hours, I noticed a clunking noise when shifting into reverse. I figured after the season, I would do the water pump and check the shifter height myself. When I pulled the shift rod housing, what did I see, chocolate milk, yes water in the oil. Shocked, I pulled the upper plug, then the lower plug to drain the lower. To my surprise, NO WASHER WAS ON THE LOWER PLUG DRAIN SCREW. There was no service done to this lower unit after it left Harbor Marine so, guess who made the mistake? Possibly costing me a $1500 item. Yep, the certified mechanic. ONLY USE THIS SHOP IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE WORSE THEN WHEN YOU GOT THERE."
