"Brian worked with us for about 12 months on scheduling the project as we had significant exterior repairs to porches and trim due to winter damage. He assisted us on paint selection (many different shades) and ultimately we choose a slighly darker shade than was currently on the home. Brian's attention to detail was evident on the finished product. The pallette of Grey is crisp against the bright white trim, and the moldings and bead board ceilings of the porches appear to jump out in detail. Brian was willing to work around repair projects and move on to other areas of the home, while repairs to trim occurred. Some sections of the home were beyond the reach of ladders and Brian rented a Boom Lift to assist with these higher areas. The work took 3-4 weeks, which was a bit longer than some of the quotes we received from larger companies; however, Brian's attention to detail and willingness to work with us on our schedule were welcomed. We would reccomend him to anyone looking for a good value, and great attention to detail. <br />"

"Jerry is very professional. He verifies appointments, arrives on time and send a written proposal in a very short period of time. When doing the job they arrived before he said he would, price was reasonable, work was excellent. It took him exactly the estimated time to do the job with no cost over runs. His crew are pleasant and respectful, no loud music all day and no second smoke to deal with. My dog liked them, and he's fussy. Good value for the money I spent. I would definitely hire him again."

"We called him March 1st and he said he would be out in a month when snow was gone. I called him back in the beginning of April and asked when he thought he might come. He said within next week or 2. He called before he was coming within 2 weeks. He had shutters 1 week then called to say he would try to come on Tues. if he couldn't make it Tuesday, he would not get out until the 1st of following week. He did come on Tuesday and reinstalled. I thought they looked nice and he tightened them down well. He is very personable. I thought the price was very fair especially considering the distance traveled. I would recommend Reggie and would call him again when needed. He also does interior painting."

"We used this company several years ago and were very happy. Then and now, we found the people very easy to work with. <br /> He was supposed to show up at 9 but didn't arrive until 9:30. He didn't call but he did apologize for being late. We were fine with that as he looked the work over and got right to it. He, as well as any we have dealt with at this company, was very polite, considerate, and personable. He also spoke highly of his boss and company which is a rarity these days. Phil was going to put booties on his shoes, but since it was a nice day, we told him not to bother...he was hesitant but complied with our request. <br /> He did a great job on everything and took the liberty to do some things above and beyond for appearance and utility reasons. He worked hard all day and wouldn't accept anything we offered but water. <br /> The only issue we had was the final bill in which we incurred overtime charges that we were not aware of up front. We paid it but told the company we felt misinformed by not being aware that rates change after so many hours. THE COMPANY MADE IT RIGHT!!! You don't see that very often. <br /> These are the kind of people I would want helping my elder friends. You might pay a little more than "Joe handyman" but they are reputable and stand behind their work...you get what you pay for. <br /> I recommend them to anyone except those who want to pay cheaply for shoddy workmanship. We will call them again if the need arises!! <br />"

"Ron was on site quickly for an estimate.  He was very willing to listen my my ideas and he had some great ideas of his own.  I was provided a detailed quote which showed me exactly where my money was going.  When the crew arrived they were very friendly and professional.  The work site was always kept clean which was a must as you must walk all the way through my house to get to this space.  I'm very happy with the end result and finished product.  This company is very professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of a simple project, renovation or newly constructed home. <br />"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Orland, ME

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
