A+ for both him and his crew.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p>November 2015-</p> <p>I want to like the work they did, I really do. The entire crew was polite and professional and showed up when they said they would. The contract they wrote called for 14 or 15 large diameter cuts on the pine tree, and I'm sure they did at least that much if not more. I know they took away more material than they had planned for. But every time I look at that pine, I see how uneven and lopsided it appears, how there are two large areas that were not thinned, and  how I will have to call another crew sooner rather than later to finish the job.</p> <p>One thing I do appreciate is that they use a truck with a lift basket instead of climbing the tree with spikes. But I have to believe that is also the source of the issue. The untouched areas are all what was out of their reach from the basket. Of course, they could have moved the truck to reach those areas. But they didn't. </p> <p>My guess is that they under valued / underbid the job, did as much as they felt they could given the money they asked for, and left rather than incur a loss by staying and working longer on it. The question is what is the standard of quality - do you do enough to satisfy the contract, or do you do the job right regardless of what you bid for? The answer for me at least is that having hired a tree trimmer to do a job, I will have to hire another one to complete it. And as much as I want to like them, I don't like that I have to now seek another trimmer to finish the job.</p> <p>UPDATE 5/15/15</p> <p>Mr Sims contacted me, said he had just recently had time to read his reviews and was concerned that I was unhappy and wanted to make things right. I appreciate that effort, Unfortunately, now is not the season to cut the tree. I will contact Mr Sims in November and we will see what happens then. But again, the only error I think he made was to underestimate the actual amount of work needed (and from that, to price accordingly).</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p>"

"I initially called for an irrigation estimate. Pedro/Peter was on time for our first appointment and was professional, polite, and pleasant. While discussing what I needed for the irrigation project, he noticed an overly wet spot in the lawn. He correctly identified the problem as a leak in the main line and, although he said it was probably going to be on my side and my responsibility to repair rather DWP's, he advised me to first contact them anyway to confirm before paying him to start working on it. That engendered a feeling of trust that he wasn't trying to rip me off. Plus I immediately knew he was correct because my tenant had complained of unusually high water bills. He and his brother Frank came the next day and fixed the problem at a very reasonable fee. They worked efficiently and quickly and cleaned up nicely afterwards. They installed my irrigation system satisfactorily and planted plants for me that I purchased from a great nursery recommended by Peter. Also, I had wanted sod but Peter advised me to just aerate the existing lawn (which was very beaten up by the previous tenant), fertilize and reseed in order to stay within my budget. Turns out he was right and my lawn has greened up nicely. Peter and Frank are just plain nice guys and good human beings as well as reliable and trustworthy. I am still an ongoing customer as they now take care of my lawn on their gardening route. I would highly recommend them to anyone."
