"The pro has been servicing our Mclean property quite well for a couple of years. Our lawn looks good and we are satisfied with the service. The customer service is sometimes underwhelming but it gets the job done at a reasonable cost which is really becoming harder by the day to get."

"I am pleased to share my positive experience with D & J Quinos Landscaping. After submitting my project request on January 5, 2025, for mulching my yard around the trees and the plants in anticipation of the freeze, I was immediately contacted by Danny. His prompt response was greatly appreciated. Danny did an exceptional job on short notice. He treated my yard as if it were his own, demonstrating a high level of care and expertise. He carefully removed the decorative stones and applied the mulch thickly, shaping it meticulously with his own hands. Upon completion, he replaced the stones and even vacuumed the area, leaving no mess behind. I am truly grateful for Danny’s service. His quick response and thorough work helped protect my family gardens from the freezing temperatures. I highly recommend D & J Quinos Landscaping for their professionalism, dedication, and outstanding service."

"Kyle and his team are fantastic. We bought a new house and needed to get landscaping done. Kyle was responsive, easy to work with, gave great advice and adjusted the plan to fit our budget. They did a fantastic job installing the plants, irrigation system and French drain for a reasonable price. Further, Kyle does business with honesty and integrity. After Uri a number of our plants were damaged. I asked Kyle to come out to let me know what was dead and needed to be replaced. He told us to wait several weeks to see what recovers rather than trying to sell us a bunch of replacement plants. Wish other service providers did business like Kyle and Set Roots. Highly recommended and would absolutely work with them again."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Pasadena, TX

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
