"I highly recommend Josh and Ayla, owners of A&J Painting. They did an incredible job staining the exterior Cypress wood at our office in Davenport. They worked on our project for about two weeks and were very particular and careful every step of the way. I really appreciated how well Josh and Ayla cleaned up every night before leaving and both have work ethics that are unmatched. I will certainly be using A&J Paining in the future. Thanks again Josh and Ayla!"

"it went well! Brian and his team painted several rooms in my home with a short deadline of 3 days. They were receptive to feedback and our participation in the creative process, often making improvements as needed. His communication about the project was fantastic and understood our goals for the house."

Small jobs welcome

"Mike with Artios Painting did an excellent job. He was on time, very responsive, and started work right away. He is more old-school and prefers phone calls instead of texting, which worked fine for me and communication was always clear. He kept me informed throughout the entire project and made sure everything was done correctly. The finished work looks great and you can definitely see the improvement in the before and after pictures. I would hire him again and highly recommend Artios Painting to anyone needing quality painting/repair work. He also a jack of all trades. "

"Deck, approximately 125 sq. ft. with about 12 ft. of railings, was built about a year ago and then left to the elements. Heath & Josh power-washed it on 7/30. In order to keep it as clean as possible while it dried, I chose not to use it when letting the dogs out--which turned out to be kind of a nuisance, but made sense to me. We had some showers in the interim, but it was dry enough for Heath to do the staining on the morning of the 4th. As soon as the smell dissipated and we got the skid-proof mat back down for the leaping hounds--we were good to go! Looks good and I feel better knowing it's more protected.  This job was done right on the heels of the exterior painting job we had them do; will most likely just call them next time we need any painting done."

"Overall it went pretty good.. Perhaps a little more feedback during the actual replacement activity would be good as there were days when the site crew started later and we were uncertain as to whether they were coming on some days. That being said, they pretty much held to the overall schedule as originally presented during the quote process. At this point in time.....the roof has been completed for only a couple of weeks....we are thoroughly satisfied."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Port Byron, IL

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
