I'm a carpenter by trade but a farmer at heart, I can figure out how to fix anything made with wood and I don't mind picking weeds either. I enjoy working on a variety of projects but I have supported my family as a carpenter.

"Josh and his crew arrived early, which was actually great. His four man crew walked all the houses since there were 3 of us having work done. They were extremely aware of the landscaping in our yard as we have a large collection of Japanese Maples, and was sure to keep them safe. The crew cleaned as they went and Josh was great in explaining what he was doing and if there were any questions. I will use them for any tree service needed and highly recommend them to anyone who needs tree work done."

"From Todd (the owner) to Adam (project manager) to his crews, you will not meet a more environmentally responsible, hard working bunch of folks!  They listen to what you want done., make suggestions if you ask and do an outstanding job on everyday maintenance as well as any hardscape project you need done.  I would recommend them for any and all of your landscape needs/desires!!"

"Jeff provided the best vision for our backyard where others couldn't see beyond the existing plan. Now we have a wonderful patio to enjoy our entire backyard as opposed to being boxed in close to the house. Jeff had to work within the constraints of our budget, but made it possible to add on to the plan over the years without leaving the yard in an unfinished looking state. Jeff would have provided plantings but we opted to do this ourselves."

"Very courteous husband and wife team.  They are on-time and even showed up on Thansgiving Day since it was their service day!  They are extremely polite and work quitely.  My only issue is that we have to tell them what to do rather than them taking ownership of the job and doing what is required.  I hope they can overcome this part as they will be a GREAT lawn service company then. <br />"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Rainier, OR

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
