"My yard was terrible. Mike came and started a lawn treatment last fall 2020. He treated it again in the spring of 2021. Now I'm on my way to a PGA type of lawn. We are happy with the results. I highly recommend Mike Causey for anyone's lawn care needs."

Customers say: Quick response

"I hired William and his team to weed mulch and clean up my flower beds, and weed and feed my lawn. The price was high, but I thought the quality would be worth it. After the work was done, I thought the job was well done, however, I found that there was weed killer sprayed on the grass, but the lawn was never seeded which created large brown spots on the lawn, the beds were not weeded, only mulch placed over the weeds, which grew through the next week. The weed killer was sprayed on my neighbors rose bush and killed it. When I reached out to William, he ignored my requests to address the problem."

"I have extensive damage to my lawn due to moles, so I needed to have the whole lawn reseeded. I decided to have the lawn aerated with their two direction aerator and then seeded. They said your lawn would be thick come spring time and would have very few if any weeds. They were right, grass even grew in shaded areas that would never take shade seed. They left you with a small bag of sun seed and small bag of shade seed to touch up any areas that need some attention. Very happy with the results. I used a little of the shade seed in the spring and that was all."

"We were pleased with the brick work they did on the walkways but the stone work done around one tree was no good. <br /> <br /> They neglected watering the lawn and trees during one particularly hot period while we were away and they downplayed it rather than saying that they failed to water our place.  <br /> <br /> We constantly had problems with their accounting department including double billing; charging for labor on the days when no workers were there; other questionable charges for the material; charging retroactively; inconsistant billing system. <br /> <br /> The owner of this company had a problem with the construction company working at our property so he never communicated with the construction crew. This resulted unnecessary additional repair work, costing us more money. While discussing this issue the owner of Oxford Lawn & Landscape shouted at me angrily over the phone. <br /> <br /> Eventually we terminated their service. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Royal Oak, MD

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
