North Eastern Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care, is a family owned and operated company serving the tri-state area since 1996. We've provided plant health care, tick and mosquito control services to over 22,000 families, making us one of the largest company's in the tri-state area. Our focus is keeping your family and property safe and protected using environmentally responsible products and methods.
"I honestly hate to leave bad reviews, but Jeff is absolutely the worst business owner that could be running this company. We hired North Eastern tree care for 4 mosquito and tick treatments for our (almost) half-acre property. May, July, Aug, October treatments. Total with tax, $614. The first treatment was done in early may. They never came in July and came 2x in august. That was it. They just never showed up for the final treatment. I called and spoke to the owner, Jeff, on Nov 1 and he offered to give us a credit for next season. I told him I wanted a refund instead and he said ok. Fast forward a month, no refund yet, and Jeff refuses to call me back or talk to me on the phone. Now, 3 days straight, they are not answering my calls anymore. So now, I will file a claim with my credit card, and warn others to look elsewhere for their property needs. I have no problem discussing further with anyone that wants more info. Email me at stiXXXX. Dont waste your money or time with them. Thank you, Joe L. Edit: Shortly after I left a comment on their social media page, I got an email from Jeff basically blaming me because I refused for them to come in November. I hired them for mosquitos, the tick treatments were just an add on. So if I hired them for October, it is a waste of my money for a mid to late November treatment. 2 of the 4 treatments hired were not done satisfactorily. So, if you feel like wasting half your money, hire these guys."

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.
Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.
The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.
Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
