"My review covers a bit more than just the 2015 spring/summer lawn mowing season.
I have gotten quotes from them for fall leaf clean-up, tree work, and lawn fertilization, and find their prices to be on the high side. With these higher prices, one would expect excellence in the quality of the work as well as the professionalism of the company. I found both to be a bit lacking. My biggest complaint with the lawn mowing service is that the weed whacking (trimming) quality was awful. The kid they had doing it would zip around the yard without care and attention and burn the edge grass, till by mid-season it was dead. As the weeks went on, there was nothing left for him to trim as the grass in all the edge areas was dead. We discussed it to him as well as called the company about it on a couple occasions through the season and finally, by the end of the season, he began to put some care into his work, but it was too late for our grass. We will need to replant all the edge areas this spring.

"Company is very good. Damage to small items have occurred in plowing services, but once reported, company owner responded quickly and promised repair. Once it is all repaired, I would give this company an A+ rating. Very honest in their pricing and works VERY hard to make sure the customer is happy with the services provided.

"I could not be happier with my choice. Shawn was professional, friendly, and knowlegable from first contact. He was not the cheapest nor the most expensive estimate I received to complete the work. His quote included more than the cheaper and more expensive estimates I had received. Once hired he began immediately and removed the trees from the house in the first day. It took a little time to complete the job but his concern was the ruin of a lawn in pristine condition. He waited for the ground to dry before starting the portion of the work that required heavy equipment. The lot is also on a very steep downward angle . I feel that he completed the job in a timely manner considering that the weather continued to work against him. Upon finishing he left the property in excellent condition. He removed the 7 foot diameter root ball as well so one would never know the wreck it all had been . The only tell tale sign is where he graded, seeded, and fertilized the portion on the yard where the trees had fallen and gouged the ground."

"All of the work was done extremely professionally. The Bluestone work was Top Notch and a lot of extra work was done free of charge. This included re-cementing some blue stone stairs and redoing the stone dust on the front walkway of the house. Jason also replenished some gravel under our deck and filled in an area below a stone wall with gravel and fill. He is extremely knowledgeable and the work is done by professionals. You truly get what you pay for. Highly recommended."

"

The actual work done was satisfactory, just incomplete: the shrubbery was largely removed (some vegetation left but little enough that I will be able to get the rest out myself), The trees that were supposed to be taken down were taken down, and only one tree was taken down that I wasn't expecting, but I had told them "when in doubt, take it out", so I have no complaint with that.

One significant problem for me is that my understanding was that the original agreement included grinding the stumps of the trees taken down around the house, especially over the end of my leach field, so that the guy who cuts my grass could mow everywhere there had been overgrowth.  However, the stumps of none of the trees were ground down (only the three Rose-of-Sharon bushes at the corner of the house), and I was quoted an additional charge to do the tree stumps.  Then when they did come out to grind the stumps of the trees down, I wasn't home and they only did three small tree stumps in the front yard (for which they are charging me $75), and none of the ones at the end of leach field that I understood to be included in the additional quote. The stumps confusion was all verbal--I've learned my lesson: have a detailed, written, counter-signed contract, no matter how great the person you are dealing with seems to be).

Finally, I had got a quote from them for resurfacing my driveway with gravel. Again there was confusion about what was going to be done (whether it would be scraped down first or not, given that there's a large rock at the surface across the width of the driveway, and for this I have a complete email chain so I'm clear that I am not the source of the confusion). There was further confusion about when the work would be done. Lastly I have learned that the quote is high compared to what my neighbors have paid for comparably sized driveways, so I'm going to resume shopping around.  I'd have been willing to pay it, however, if I'd been confident of a good job, and no confusion about what I was or was not paying for.  The repeated 'surprises' were not reassuring, however, and I have decided that I will not have any further work done by them.

"Angela is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and competent landscape design professional. Since we are quite acknowledgeable, Angela was patient and responsive and helped us to choose a design that met our needs. She takes personal pride in the process and gets down and dirty while installing plants, trees, etc. We loved working with her."

"Our school received a Green Schools award for outstanding environmental education in 2012.  Part of our program is to ensure that we use green products including fertilization for our playing fields.  I found John (the owner) through the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA).  They provided soil testing and analysis of our playing fields and then implemented an organic fertilization maintenance program that fit our needs.  Our ground and playing fields are in great (healthy) condition, thanks to Go Organic.
