Some of Our Service Achievements - Winner of the 2010, 2011 & 2012 Angies list Super Service Award!

"We have used Pete's Pest Control since "2008" on a few of our Portland homes. We were happy and pleased with the service initially. Over the years their service has gone downhill and not the quality service that it once was. Ronda (Pete's wife) Director of Operations answering the phone has been quite short and rude the last couple of years, it's almost like she's overwhelmed, overworked and just flat stressed out. Take note of any less than perfect review on any and all platforms that Pete always turns any negativity on his part on the customer instead of accepting any wrongdoing whatsoever. Pete in these last few years does not seem to be too involved in his business like he once was and when I have spoken with him he's short, moody, rude, and abrasive. When it comes to pest control we all have choices and I certainly would not recommend Pete's Pest Control. BEWARE!"

Three Rivers Mosquito and Vector Control is more than a pest control company that offers mosquito control services. We specialize and are experts in mosquito control. TRMVC is a Central Oregon based business and provides services ranging from feasibility studies and reports for the establishment of vector control programs to evaluations and recommendations for existing programs. We provide training, support and materials for in-house programs as well as providing tailored, full-service control programs. Our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs provide you one-stop, full-service management that maximizes your control over mosquitoes and other flying nuisances. Our professional staff develops and tailors programs based on your specific habitats, environmental sensitivities, and budget. Because TRMVC offers the widest variety of application methods, and utilizes the most innovative technologies to assess and monitor each program, we can achieve the right balance of efficacy with environmental responsibility. Plus we offer the industry's fastest scheduling and response time. No other company can service your needs better. TRMVC uses nationally accepted methods to control mosquito populations, including surveillance, source reduction, and the application of EPA-approved larvicides and adulticides for enhanced quality of life in any municipality. TRMVC bases its programs on sound science; routine inspections of treatment areas coupled with collections from surveillance traps enable us to determine the presence of West Nile Virus or other mosquito borne diseases, which mosquito species are present, their approximate population density, type of breeding habitats, and locations. TRMVC employs an IPM approach to scientifically and systematically design customized control programs for each municipality. Every program we design incorporates a combination of computer models, GIS mapping, weather monitoring, and least toxic and most effective biological and chemical controls. TRMVC combines this data with timely reporting to facilitate informed program decisions and critical public education assistance. Three Rivers Mosquito and Vector Control and the American Mosquito Control Association advocates management of mosquito populations when and where necessary by means of integrated programs designed to benefit or to have minimal adverse effects on people, wildlife, and the environment. This integrated pest management (IPM) policy recognizes that mosquito populations cannot always be eliminated but often must be suppressed to tolerable levels for the well-being of humans, domestic animals, and wild life and that selection of scientifically sound suppression methods must be based on consideration of what is ecologically and economically in the long-term best interest of mankind. The following principles are advocated: •Mosquito control measures should be undertaken only when there is adequate justification based upon surveillance data. •IPM programs should be tailored to the needs and requirements of the local situation. The combination of methods for mosquito control should be chosen after careful consideration of the efficacy, ecological effects, and costs versus benefits of the various options, including public education, legal action, natural and biological control, elimination of breeding sources, and insecticide applications. •Mosquito breeding sources, whether natural or created by human activity should be altered in such a manner as to cause the least undesirable impact on the environment. •Insecticides and application methods should be used in the most efficient and least hazardous manner, in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and available scientific data. The registered label requirements for insecticide should be followed. When choices are available among effective insecticides, those offering the least hazard to non-target organisms should be used. FAQs for bee removal projects in Seaside, OR

Free wasp removal services are rare. Unlike bees, wasps don't produce honey, so beekeepers typically don't collect them. While some organizations might remove wasp nests for medical research, this is uncommon. In most cases, you'll need to pay for wasp nest removal. Check with your local municipality to see if they offer free or low-cost removal services.

Keeping hornets on your property poses serious safety risks. Hornets are aggressive insects that deliver potent venom and trigger severe allergic reactions. Their defensive behavior and larger stingers can cause extremely painful, medically significant stings, especially in populated areas. Although hornets help control specific insect populations, the health hazards they create far exceed any benefits, making their presence dangerous.

You should contact a wasp removal professional as soon as you discover a nest, especially if it's in a high-traffic area on your property. While small nests in open areas might seem manageable for a DIY approach, there's always a risk of stings. For nests in hard-to-reach places like attics or behind walls, it's best to rely on experienced professionals. The optimal time for wasp removal is in the spring when wasps start building nests.

Preventing future wasp or yellow jacket infestations requires proactive deterrence measures. You achieve this by installing fake nests that discourage new colonies, arranging follow-up inspections with a local exterminator, and applying natural repellents—such as vinegar, coffee grounds, and cinnamon—around key entry points. These actions firmly block these stinging insects from establishing nests near your home.

Killing a wasp triggers its alarm pheromones, which immediately signal nearby wasps to converge on the disturbance. This action forces the insect community to become aggressive and increases the risk of multiple stings. Such a response transforms the situation into a hazardous swarm, which is why professional removal is essential.

Wasps do not return to a treated nest because they do not reuse old nests. The treatment removes the chemical cues that once attracted the wasps, and the elimination process clearly disrupts their established territory. As a result, a treated nest effectively discourages new nest construction nearby, ensuring the area remains safe.
