I've had to call each time, and they've said, "Oh, sorry. We should have been out there already." That kind of thing. I liked what they did do, when they finally did it. "Fertilizing and weed control seem to go well and they have succeeded in getting a healthy lawn to grow on our poor Madison County clay soil. It seems to be aeration where we have difficulty. Last year the TruGreen rep aerated during a dry spell when our clay soil was baked hard. I could see where his aerator walked across the soil without even taking cores. Unless he was sight impaired, he had to have seen it too, yet he rolled the machine over my yard, called it good and I was charged. It felt the money was more important than good service. This year the rep was rude, and obnoxious. He debated me on the location of our house, since his navigation software said our house was eight miles away in the next town, and continued as I gave him the most basic directions to an very easy to find location. When I arrived home and he was still working on the lawn, our dog ran over to him barking, sniffed him and went off to play in the yard. He informed me he would rather not have the dog out while he did the work and I said I understand. I intended to take the dog in the house with me as soon as he finished telling me I had grubs and showing them to me. He continued showing me grubs in several locations as the dog continued to play disinterestedly 70 feet away. As he continued taking me to multiple locations, he continued to lecture me about having the dog in the house while he did the aeration and I said I would make certain he was in. When he finally stopped taking me to a variety of locations, he began his dog talk again, making obnoxious comments that made me wonder if he had any comprehension of the importance of repeat business. I finally told him to do the work we agreed to, load up and send me his bill. I feel no great need to give my business to someone who is unreasonable and difficult to deal with, and I don't have any problem with his dog preference. I understand perfectly. There is, however a way to express your concern and policy without making someone wish you would just go away. I'm finished with TruGreen and will contract with someone happy to have my business."

This estimate was quite a bit lower than the highest - seemed reasonable. <br /> Because the work was scheduled and completed during their winter season, I received a 10% discount off my bill. <br /> The two guys who came to do the work were a few hours later than planned, but it was because there had been snowfall that kept them at their previous job longer. I wish they would have kept me informed a little better so I didn't have to take as much time off work. They seemed a little confused when they first approached me because they thought they had one tree to trim instead of three. It would have made a better impression had he read the job writeup first. Anyway, they seemed to do a really good job. One guy did most of the cutting while the other was continually cleaning up after. <br />"
