Arrived promptly for estimate and emailed it immediately. they charge $600 and had other estimates for $900, $100 and $1400 for same job! sent out Miss utility and once that was complete they were ready to c ome out the next day. they had to push is to one day later due to an unexpectedly long job but they came the next day as promised. They communicated with me by phone, email and text to let me know off the schedules and any chances. Did the work with a team of 5 and large, well-kept machines. removed the stump and removed all the debris and place was in perfect condition (minus our dead tree) when they left. final payment request came in promptly and was easy to pay online. I would hire them again without any hesitation. VERY happy with the company."

"Craig’s landscaping is a top notch landscaping company. I have relatives who use them and have had excellent results so I decided to take a look for several projects I have around the house. I was pleasantly surprised at the capabilities and price. I have a 2 + acre property that needed extensive weeding, trimming, mulching and plant removal. The price quoted was very reasonable and the turn around time was even more of a surprise. The team arrived on time and went to work. I am typically hands on as projects take place but found I never once had to intervene. The team did a fabulous job in all facets of the project and accomplished all tasks in a professional and timely manner. The end result was 100% perfection. They took my landscape to the next level. "They took down a dying ash for me and did a good job. There are a few big reasons I'm giving them a bad review. First, despite my specifically asking if a tree removal permit was required, they said no. They know better - I found out afterwards that a permit is required. I could have been fined a serious amount of $$$. They also recommended trimming my huge elm tree in July, but lucky for me two other tree companies told me that elms can only be trimmed in winter when they are dormant. Trimming elms when they have leaves risks Dutch Elm disease. Shifflett has been in business for a long time - surely they know better about all of the above. Really disappointed. In DC, both you as the homeowner and the tree service can get slapped with hefty fines (like $10K and up) for failing to apply for a permit to remove a tree. For a dead or dying tree, the permits are free. Adirondack Tree not only told me I had to get a permit, they also applied and got it for me. It took about 2 days. People may not know that in DC and other areas like Takoma Park, MD, you need a permit to remove trees, but a professional tree service should know and follow this law, it's there for a good reason. See ddot.dc.gov/page/tree-re… Beyond that, Shifflett's estimate that was way more than those from two other tree companies. I'm just lucky that I got other estimates - otherwise I would have paid far more, risked being fined for not having the required permit, and my elm tree could have gotten Dutch Elm disease due to Shifflet's negligence."

"Virginia Tree & Landscapes was recommended to us by our concrete contractor. In preparation of expanding our driveway, we needed four trees removed, as well as some additional stumps and roots. Anthony provided a timely in-person estimate and was able to perform the job just a few days later, keeping us on timeline for our concrete job. Anthony and his team did a great job at a fair price. They were professional, courteous, and left our property clean. Highly recommend and will definitely call Anthony next time we need tree trimming/removal."

"Axcobar should be your first choice for tree cutting and removal. Their service was outstanding in every way. Melvin responded in person to my emergency call after the recent tornado (microburst) in Olney took out six of the large, old trees in my yard. One of the trees was hanging over the deck and threatened to create more damage to my house if not skillfully removed. Axcobar showed up with a fabulous crew and a couple of trucks with shredders attached. These folks worked tirelessly over two days to cut, shred, and remove the trees that fell and the ones that were damaged and still standing. In addition, they removed all of the broken branches, twigs, and assorted debris in the area. We can not say enough good things about this service. Oh btw, their pricing was extremely competitive and fair. We will use them again and highly recommend them to others."

"I will never never never hire Kevin Beard or his crew again. He never did a good job at all. I had him give me a quote on June 19 and as of Oct 1 the tree and a mess was still in my yard. He never called or text me saying he wouldn't not be at my house on the days he was schedule be there. He had all kind of excuses for not coming. I had to call him. Then when I got a hold of him the last time see when he was gonna finish the job by removing the tree and the mess out of my yard his answer was he needed more money cause its causing him money to haul it off. Well I paid him to cut down one tree and 4 stumps and to haul away the tree and clean up the mess. So I told him I wasnt given him anymore money. SO I WILL NEVER HIRE HIM AND HIS CREW AGAIN HES NOT DEPENDABLE AND HES WILL NOT FINISH THE JOB UNTIL YOU PAID HIM MORE MONEY Which I wasnt gonna do that. I told him dont come back to my house so we cleaned up the mess ourselves. I paid him in the price to haul it away and clean up too"
