"We called and set up an appointment for the next day in the "early afternoon" to have someone come out and fix the trees. We also had another appointment that afternoon, at three, but figured they should be done by then. After no phone call and no one coming by, we called the company around 230 to let them know that we might not be there, but to call and one of us could leave the appointment and come to the house. They said that the person was running late, but should be there right around 330 or so and they would call when they got there. Well, we got back to the house right around 330 and waited for someone to come. At around 530, we called again and the owner said that he didn't know what happened and couldn't get in touch with the person that was supposed to come out. We were pretty frustrated at that point since we really didn't want to loose the tree and had waited around all day for them to come out. The owner did say that he would personally come out first thing the next day to fix the tree and did apologize. The next morning, the original guy did come out and said that he was working in a garage the previous day and got hydraulic fluid on him, so he just went home to get cleaned up and called it a day. Not sure if that is really a valid reason for not coming out and not picking up your phone. <br /> The work they did was really very good. The guy that came out was very knowledgeable about the tree and how to trim and stake it. He also let us know what to expect in terms of leaves dying and how it should last the summer. I think the amount of work he did was more than the owner originally thought was necessary, but they kept the price the same as the estimate, maybe because of the issues the day before. Due to the quality of work, I would probably use them again, but if I ran into another issue with people showing up on time, I would look for another company.  <br />"

"I have always found Redmond's employees to be friendly and helpful.  They don't "hover" but they will answer any question I have.  Like most gardeners I shop at many different shops so it isn't unusual to find a lower price somewhere else but on average I have found Redmond's prices to be at least competitive if not lower.  Redmond's has one of the largest (if not the largest) selections in the area and always have a wide number of plants to choose from.  That can be intimidating for people just starting out in landscaping, therefore the need for qualified staff, but for people like myself who have been gardening for years it is a pleasure to walk around the place just to see what they have at the time, whether I buy something or not.   I always end up sitting in the shade on a bench by the waterfall to finish my time.  And if you're lucky they will have bagged up some free popcorn for you. <br />"

There are different departments, so your lawn service tech. may not be the one who fertilizes your shrubs and trees. Very consistent."

"We have used Dave Leonard Tree Services before and have always been pleased with their work, but the result this time was dramatic. Our maple tree, otherwise healthy and providing shade to our house, had been "topped" by a previous owner. When a main branch splintered and barely missed hitting our house, we discovered a disfigured system of branches instead of a healthy branching system and worried that the tree could not be saved. Ross Raterman assured us that a careful pruning could alleviate a lot of the stress caused by the previous topping and save the tree.
