From our initial meeting to the completion of your project, our number one goal is to exceed your expectations. We install economical projects with great resell value along with large outdoor living staycations. When you choose to work with us, you get a project manager to communicate important information and oversee the installation of your project. Before we can begin construction, there are many tasks that must be completed. We do this efficiently by using project, customer service and communication tools and technologies along with a great staff that all share the same vision of excellence. Below are the steps we take to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your choice.
"I had 5 contractors bid my deck, HD came in with some fairly decent discounts and seemed very professional and dedicated. The design phase was fairly smooth, I chose the signature package with LED lights on the rails with the caveat that I would choose the colors after the samples were dropped off. I sent off an email after I chose the colors that I wanted to the POC that I was provided. Two weeks ahead of the scheduled start date they dropped off a series of pallets with all of the material on the side of my yard, after I called and questioned the timing and effect it would have on my grass, they moved up the start date by a week. Demo went well, except for the cleanup. I had to pick up several bags of trash and nails that were left behind and they damaged a downspout on a completely unrelated area of the house when dumping the old deck over my fence. The install seemed to be going fine until I looked at the colors of the decking and it was not what I had indicated in the previous email. I went ahead and went with the colors that were provided, they were fairly close, and I am somewhat ambivalent in regard to color. Things began to slide rapidly from here, I had 4 support pillars previously with a downspout running down one into a drain that runs under my patio, which is brick. They had a 3-pillar design that completely disregarded the drain and the downspout. When I pointed this out, I was assured they would run a line under the patio and tie it in to the drain. The deck itself was put together in fairly short order, about 3 days. I had several discrepancies with the install, one board was rip-cut and very jagged and the V supports were not aligned to the edge of the support beams, no right angles and mis-aligned. The PM assured me someone would be out to fix it shortly. We are now 2 weeks into the build and 4 weeks with the construction material laying in my yard, grass is dead at this point and I am getting frustrated. They come out and fix the mangled board and the V supports and the deck itself is done. I still have a damaged down spout and my patio has a gaping hole with my drain sticking up out of the ground. About a week goes by with ZERO communication from HD, I’m outside looking around and notice a 3 inch gash in my paddle board. At this point I email the owner and offer to go with another contractor to fix my patio, damage to the spout and tell him about the p/b. He offered to buy me a new p/b, that was nice but missing the point entirely, he was aggressive and agitated, mentioning several time “I built this company” and only concerned about getting paid. I fixed the p/b myself. He assures me that someone will be out ASAP to fix my patio and that they will find similar brick for the repair. I explained that that particular brick was the only option and provided the information where it could be purchased. About a week later the patio crew came out, tied the drain in and laid the brick as it was before, leaving me with about 60 extra bricks to store, including the ones that were partially cut and completely useless to me. Inexplicably there is also white spray paint on a 4 brick section next to one of the pillars In summary, the deck itself is about 4 stars. Service, communication and execution of the project are one star, hence the 2-star rating. I do not recommend this company."

Acclaim Home Services is a locally owned and operated general contracting company that specializes in Patio/Decks and Fencing. We have less then 10 employees that offer a wide range of professional home services. We offer many different financing options and well as seasonal promotions. We treat our clients with respect and have a no pressure sales policy. Our goal is to gain your trust and business for life.
"I would recommend the Acclaim crew in a heartbeat for high value work from trustworthy, kind people. They did an absolutely fabulous job on our deck, at a fair price. The crew are real craftsmen with a proactive eye for detail and aesthetics. They had to deal with significant challenges along the way... and they got through it all, cheerfully and collaboratively despite one of the most challenging jobsites I am sure they have ever had to deal with. Toney and Rey were great partners to us, helping us make decisions and navigate these challenges, and working flexibly with us when we realized we needed to change the plan a bit. Any issues we spotted were quickly addressed. They went above and beyond on several occasions, adding thoughtful small upgrades and solutions for long term maintenance. They were careful to leave us happy and proud of our new deck and have been responsive with a few small warranty fixes too. I am proud of the deck and proud of them for their excellent work."

We are locally owned and operated construction company and have been doing installations and remodelling since 2005. We like to differ ourselves from the competition with the exceptional customer service and care, attention to the details and therefore to excellence in quality of workmanship and products. With each and every project being unique, we do oversee the entire project from initial design and free estimate, the permit applications, throughout the entire construction to very last clean up. We treat your project with the highest priority and take a pride in each and every installation. Our satisfied customers are our best advertisement. "We learned about AVEC through friends who have a beautiful screened-in porch, and we later contracted AVEC to build us a new deck and screened-in porch. The whole experience was fantastic, and AVEC was very attentive to our needs and worked closely with us at every step. We now have a deck and porch that exceed our expectations in every way and is so nice that we are already spending much of our time there just enjoying it. With all of the professional touches (skylights, recessed lights, wall-mount stainless steel heaters, tongue-in-groove wood on the house wall and ceiling, Trex decking and wrapped columns, etc.) it really looks much more like an addition to the house rather than a just a standard deck/porch. The deck and porch really transform the whole house. There are four individuals we worked with on a regular basis. Alex was the first person we met and we liked him from the get-go. He is extremely personable and knowledgeable, exactly the kind of person to best manage customer relations. There were never any big issues really but even the little concerns we had Alex always sorted out quickly and professionally. He always had time for us and took care of us. He is just an outstanding person. He was, for us, the face of the company, and we couldn't have been happier working with Alex and getting to know him as a person. Hernan was the on-site manager and got everything going (demolition, footers, and decking footprint) prior to taking some planned vacation. He was excellent. We remember him saying 'you can't see this yet in your minds but I can and it is really going to be a beautiful structure'. He was correct. Then there are Rudy and Melki, the two men who essentially built the entire thing. They were wonderful. Very courteous, very friendly, very helpful, very responsive. Rudy is a genius, and his years of experience working in this field really showed - there was nothing he could not do. Rudy was very good at explaining things. Melki was also incredible— soft-spoken and confident. These men are physically strong and extremely hard-working. There are often multiple ways to do something and Rudy always asked us which way we wanted it done. They never took shortcuts. They always took time before leaving to clean up the job site. If we wanted something a certain way, even if it was not really the standard way that they normally did things, they would accommodate us. For example, the stairs down off the deck are normally built a certain way but we had a faucet that we wanted to be on a landing so they re-engineered things and built some custom stairs that are just perfect. We talked with them every day and came to enjoy interacting with them so much that we actually missed that when the job was over. Thank you AVEC for transforming our house in such a beautiful way. We could not be happier with the outcome."

Composite decking stands up to weather, insects, and daily wear without the yearly sanding and staining that wood needs. The boards keep their color, resist splintering, and won’t warp in the sun, so you can spend more time relaxing and less time on upkeep. Over its 25- to 50-year life span, that durability can easily offset the slightly higher upfront price.
Yes, you can install composite decking on a rooftop, but the structure must handle the added weight and have the right slope for drainage. A structural engineer or experienced deck builder will confirm load limits, recommend specialized fasteners, and design a ventilation layer that keeps moisture from collecting under the boards. Those extra steps protect both the roof and your new deck for decades.
Building a composite deck starts with permits and a solid foundation of footings and framing. Next, installers lay joists, secure hidden fasteners, and place the deck boards, followed by railings and stairs if you need them. The job wraps up with a final inspection and thorough cleanup, leaving you with a ready-to-enjoy outdoor space.
Most composite decks last 25 to 50 years—far longer than many wood options. Plastic binders shield the wood fibers from moisture, while built-in UV inhibitors keep colors from fading. Combine that durability with the absence of splinters and decay, and you get a deck that looks fresh season after season with minimal upkeep.
Timeline depends on deck size, site prep, and crew experience, but most residential projects wrap up in a few days to a couple of weeks. Simple ground-level platforms go fastest, while multi-level designs or sites that need excavation add time. A seasoned pro will give you a clear schedule and keep you informed if weather delays pop up.
Composite isn’t your only choice. For classic warmth, you can choose pressure-treated or naturally rot-resistant woods or aluminum for a lightweight, water-resistant surface. Each material has its own maintenance routine, price point, and style, so weigh the look you want against how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep.
