"Mike and team did a phenomenal job on the exterior of our house. It is an older home so the paint and trim needed a lot of work. Trim needed repair as well as stucco, and all of these were handled very well. The team was meticulous and they made sure at every step of the way that we were happy with the results. We get many compliments on the house now. I plan to hire Mike again for future projects."

"Derek is exactly what you hope for when hiring a painter. As shown in the attached picture, his work is extremely high quality - crisp straight lines including the stripe, no spill over on the trim or ceiling, spackled all areas in need of repair, and he even took the initiative to sand all the walls before painting (something we didn’t discuss beforehand). All the logistics of the job were perfect (prompt responses to questions, arrived on time both days, left the room completely clean) and he had a personable, professional attitude. The nursery turned out just as we had envisioned, and we’ll definitely be using DS Painting for other rooms in the future."

"Luis and crew did an excellent job. Total job was powerwash exterior, caulk, paint house and stain decking. Also recommended an individual for new screening. All in all, a good experience."

"We could not have asked for more. It started with the great customer service, Mr. Darlington came gave us an estimate and explained everything in detail. We were able to select from a wide array of colors. We chose a bold blue color. The prep work was perfect (taping off trim, windows, lights). They first painted the trim as well as the garage door in white, then painted the house in blue. The detail they went into included painting every little thing was quite amazing. There was no over-spray on any parts of the house, foundation or lawn. After painting they wanted to make sure the color was acceptable before removing the masking. It is amazing the feedback we received from the neighbors as well any passerby about how they love the color. 02/06/19 I’m completing this review almost 3 years later, you might ask why? Well I wanted to see how the painting held up, still beautiful and no fading or chipping. I highly recommend Darlington it is a family run business!"

"Mr Wright was punctual, professional and thorough. Everything was great. He set up, moved and covered my furniture and cleaned up afterward.I had the Wright brothers paint my entire upstairs a year or so ago, and liked them so much, I chose to have them do the rest of my painting. I strongly recommend them. <br />"

"Jeff did a excellent job painting the exterior and interior of our home. He was very easy to work with and very flexible in working with our schedule. He painted all the exterior trim and recaulked all the windows. Painted the entire interior walls/baseboard/crown molding. Also touched up some areas of the ceiling and made repairs where needed. His attention to detail is very good. We would highly recommend Jeff for all of your paining needs."

"We had used Stirling for a small paint job a few years ago and were pleased with their work so we contacted them for an estimate on this project. We were promptly given an estimate and designed a contract for them to do the job. Jeff, the painter, arrived promptly and worked efficiently and neatly, completing the job in about 2 days - doing an undercoat and two coats of paint. A job well-done!"

"Paul and his helper showed up on time and did a fantastic job adding the new doors to our home. Our home is 117 years old, so it required a little bit of adjusting and customization work in order for the new doors to fit properly, but they came out great and we couldn't be happier with the work performed."

"Darren and his crew were punctual, professional and did their job! Darren came to give me an estimate for the rooms that needed to be painted - we agreed on the price, and the work was performed a few days later. He even came back to do more painting after I wanted other rooms painted. Will hire in the future to paint the kitchen and family room. Thanks for the professionalism... Job came out great."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Wind Gap, PA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
