"Main Street Oriental Rugs did a great job cleaning our Persian rug. We accidentally dropped a wine glass and splashed red wine all along a white border. Main Street came to the rescue. They picked up the rug the same day that I called, moved a heavy coffee table to get to it, and returned it, clean, as promised 10 days later. They did a deep cleaning and I can honestly say the colors are more vibrant now than when we sent it out. The red spots have vanished and we are very pleased with the outcome. "The guys who came to do the work were nice and friendly. They arrived in the window I was told and got to work. I thought the price was fair and they did a good job getting a lot of the stains out. It was sometime since I had the carpets cleaned. There were a bunch of spots and my second floor carpets were pretty dirty from having major renovations on my third floor. My unhappiness with the service and the job that was performed is with the perimeters of the carpet. They really did a lousy job on the edges where the carpet meets the baseboard / walls. Their machines couldn’t get to the edge and you could visibly see where the machine stopped. I was told the machine they use doesn’t go to the wall. I don’t understand that and feel the job was half done. They should have the proper equipment to clean carpets up to the baseboards. It stopped 3-4 inches from the wall and looked horrible. I spent an entire evening with a little carpet cleaner going over all edges to clean what they couldn’t and still have one room and staircase left to do. I am very disappointed in the job that was done and can’t recommend their service. It seemed to me it was rushed and no time was spent on details. They also didn’t bother opening closet doors to clean a little inside the closet. So I have to say there is no attention to details. I admit the carpets were really dirty and what they cleaned they did well but what they didn’t clean stuck out like a sore thumb. I expect the entire carpet to be cleaned as best that can be done and that did not happen with this company."

"He did a nice job with the cleaning. Carpets look refreshed and random pet- and kid-stains are gone. The carpet stretching was for two wrinkled areas in the path of high traffic of a 12-year-old carpet. After stretching and cutting the carpet around a floor vent he asked me how I wanted him to fix the area around the vent which was now off center from the stretching and gave me a couple options which I felt was odd. I thought he should know how to handle it so it looked the best. I did make a choice and it looks fine but the whole interaction left me a bit puzzled. In the end the carpet looks good and has probably bought me a few more years of use looking nice before it will be replaced."
