"Wonderful experience! Extremely turnkey and a very easy process. Great customer service. I have used the company for several years and they are always very organized and professional. I had one set of lights that were not working, I did one quick text to the company and someone was out the next day to fix the light. It makes the holidays having your home lite up so beautifully."

"Sean from Clearview came out as scheduled and did a great job installing my lights.  I have used other installers in the past that provided a less than perfect experience.  Sean was by far the most cleanly installer I have ever had.  All the strings of lights were straight and professional grade, you even get to choose your color and pattern.  Best part was that my yard wasn't littered with those little plastic hanger clips.  He even came out promptly to fix a light that came loose in a storm.  When spring arrived, the lights were taken down in a timely manner; unlike some other installers that will leave the lights up until its convenient for them to take down, aka summer.  I also use Clearview for window cleaning, as they are awesome at this too."

"We called Cady Handyman Services and a pleasant gentleman discussed our deck project.
Cady Handyman scheduled one of his service tech to come out the follow morning.
The tech arrived promptly at the scheduled time with a friendly ready to fix our problem attitude.
We have raised nails and screws on our deck that always seem to reappear during winter months.
These raised nails and screws made snow removal just horrible. The Cady tech recommened that we remove many of the bad loose fastners and replaced with a new non-corosive styles of screws.
After a complete walk through of our project we were extremely satified.

With our project completed we are now looking forward to the winter to come.

With our total satisfaction with Cady Handyman Services we have again committed to them for our up coming basement project

"Smooth Move Solutions arrived 10 minutes early, with trucks and trailers and a team. They were all very friendly and professional. I had alot of things I needed moved from one building to another. And some junk and debris removal. They also hung Christmas lights and more. They were Awesome hard workers. I kept them busy with alot of projects I coukdnt tackle myself. They spent 12 hours hard at work. I would strongly recommend Smooth Move Solutions. They offer such a broad range of Services. I was so greatful that i found Smooth Move Solutions. They took care of all the lifting and moving of things I couldnt do. The service was outstanding! They made sure that none of my heavy items they moved, got damaged. They had to move several heavy items down and upstairs and through some narrow doorways. I WILL DEFINITELY BE CALLING SMOOTH MOVE SOLUTIONS AGAIN. THX Guys! Logan Hook is the Owner. He was right there working with his employees. Outstanding Services!"

"David responded to our request for a quote right away and made an appointment to come out the next day. He was friendly, professional and gave us a very reasonable quote to do the job; lower than any of the electricians we contacted outside of Service Magic. The job was completed to our satisfaction and in a timely manner. We were very pleased with his work."

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Clear Lake, MN

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
