"Very well. They are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for and they did take care of me during the whole Holiday Season. I will be using them again this year. Two weeks after they installed the lights they came round one evening just to check everything looked good - I didn't even ask them and I was very pleased to see such attentive care. I had one issue where a section of my roof did not have any lights, and they came round with 24 hours to fix it. The whole process was fast and seamless."

"There was unable to install recessed lighting in the home due to a metal plate being built into the ceiling. Instead, provider installed a ceiling fan apparatus. It's not centered in the room, so I will not use it. Not sure that such service was comparative to the cost of the recess lighting. All in all, the guys were professional and timely. They did not, however, repair the holes drilled in the ceiling. <br />"

"From the first time David came to the house, we knew we wanted to work with him and this company. He listened to our ideas and our preferences, and then offered many helpful suggestions to make it even better. After he sent the list of plants he had in mind (so we could look them up on the internet to see if we liked them), he gladly made changes based on my choices - even when I knew what he suggested was better for the area (but I just didn't like it.) He was always professional in his attitude. It took a while before the work began, because we didn't call them out until the height of planting season and they were swamped. But when they came, the crew did an excellent job - even relocating a few of our existing plants and reworking the sprinkler system to cover the area being landscaped better. We also had a french drain put in along one side of our property. At this point, we haven't had the gullywashers to test that out, but I feel sure it will do what it's supposed to do - draining the excess water more quickly so it doesn't stand so long. One of the small plants died, despite much watering, and they are scheduled to replace it next week when in the area, just as promised when the work was finished. I can't say enough good about this company and the work they do, and the manner in which they perform it. We will definitely hire them again with further landscape wishes."

"<p>We don't have as much storage space as we used to and I needed help reducing and organizing the items we have.  </p> <p>I was not sure how it would feel to have strangers in my house and working in my space.  However, when they arrived they immediately made me comfortable. With their help and a lot of hard work on all of our parts we were able to organize my rooms in a way that makes it easy to fit the items I kept as well as making it easier for me to know exactly where everything is.  A lot of the tips they gave me was how to store things in a manner that helps you access them quickly.  <br /> <br /><br /> <br />While this is not an inexpensive process, it was beneficial to us to do it.</p> <br />"

"We were looking for an all-inclusive landscaping company to completely redo our backyard, which had been a muddy, poorly graded safety hazard for nearly a year following concrete removal and extensive sewer work in early 2018. Among those I contacted to get an estimate for the work, Matt was the quickest to schedule an appointment, and he returned a detailed estimate to me in less than a week. His original price was a little higher than we could afford, but he was willing to work within our budget so he altered/deleted a few items to meet our financial needs. Even so, his estimates for all aspects of the project were exceptionally reasonable and he was one of the few who treated the job as something worth his time (most others gave me the impression that it was a 'small job' and not one they wanted or needed). While there were a few unexpected interruptions due to poor weather, the crews were able to complete the job in a timely manner, which was certainly impressive. However, what impressed me most was the dedication and care they put into their work. For example, they took nearly 5 full days to prep the ground, install the underlayment, and place the pavers for our brand new travertine patio, which is both stunning to look at and practical all at the same time. We have had countless positive comments from neighbors and friends with several people asking for Matt's information so they can have the same kind of patio installed in their yards. Furthermore, Matt and his crew were exceptionally considerate of my requests as the job progressed, making adjustments along the way to meet my expectations. Those who saw the yard before the crews started their work are simply amazed by the transformation. I cannot say enough good things about this company and highly recommend them for any landscaping project!"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Gainesville, TX

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
