"Alex is great!  We hired him last fall after interviewing several others.  While he was not the cheapest, we felt he offered the best value and the complete service we were looking for.  Our previous lawn service was provided by a single person who could not keep up with all the amount of work needed to keep our property looking its best.  Some of the other people we interviewed indicated their people would spent about half an hour at our property and "trimming" would be done with an electric hedge trimmer.  We have many rose bushes and everyone else said they did not do roses as their crew weren't  trained to care for roses.  Alex told us he would have a three man crew at our home for 1 to 1 1/2 hours each visit and they would do whatever we wanted during that time period--even if it was changing light bulbs!   <br /> Alex checks our property each visit to make sure all the emitters are working and that each plant/tree is receiving the proper amount of water.  He also checks for bugs that might be attacking our plants and sprays accordingly.  Weeds are kept under control.  He recommends staking of trees/plants if necessary, is happy to answer any questions we have, and makes recommendations if we are considering adding something to our landscape.   <br /> Last fall he thatched our summer lawn, filled in the low spots in the lawn and reseeded with winter rye.  Each ensuing visit he made sure the seed was sprouting evenly and that the new lawn was thriving.   <br /> If I buy new plants, he willingly plants them at no charge.  In fact, the only "extra" charge was to rent the thatcher and that was shared among his clients.  He does not charge for carting away grass or trimmings.  He does not charge to replace emitters.  Other lawn services told us they would charge for all of those things. <br /> Alex is very responsive, reliable, pleasant, and easy to work with.  We are so happy we found him! <br />"

"We used him last summer and we've been trying to get them to come back, apparently there was some change in staff. I got a call this weekend from a guy who will hopefully start us back up. It was okay last summer, I didn't have any issues. We don't keep the winter grass going, we don't do winter grass, so we stopped it for that. <br /> <br /> We had a hard time getting ahold of somebody by phone. They were fine. You know, pretty reasonably priced, we just had the front yard cut and trimmed for $40 a month, which is basically twenty dollars every two weeks. We thought that was pretty darn reasonable. We're hoping to get them going back this summer. <br /> <br /> They were always punctual, they were always here every two weeks, and they did a decent job on it. They don't trim trees or bushes or anything like that but we didn't have any of that to do. They would show up and cut our front lawn, trim it and blow it, so everything was clean and picked up. We were happy with their service, which is why we're trying to get them back. <br /> <br /> So far so good. We were playing phone tag for a while, and the guy who finally called us back said that the one my husband had dealt with had moved on to a different job, so somebody else has taken over. So, like I said, they were playing phone tag and the guy left a message on my husband's cell phone that they would like to try to get the service started again, so hopefully we'll be talking to them in the next day or so. <br /> <br /> They have different services, you can do it different amounts of times. For us it was $40 a month, they came every two weeks, and I thought that was reasonable. I am hoping they'll be the same this year too. The first time that we used them there was a sprinkler head that wasn't working right and they fixed it, I mean, that was a thing that was over and above. I don't think they charged for that. I thought it was kind of nice of them. But they are pretty basic, they just stick with cutting lawns. <br /> <br /> The service last summer was great, you could count on them, there's a couple of different ways to pay, they would send us our statement via email and I would print it out. I am not big on people doing an auto-withdrawal from your chequing account, and that was an option, but you also had the option for a few dollars more to print it off and mail it in ourselves, so that was good. <br /> <br /> We found out about them because they put flyers on our door. <br /> <br /> As far as doing it on time and being reliable it was great. The quality was maybe just, you know, it seemed like there was some unevenness in the grass or, they were not, they didn't do an impeccable job, but the kept the HOA off of our backs! They could have been a bit more fastidious."
