"When we bought our house, we didn't know that the previous owners used Trugreen (then Chemlawn) for lawn care services. We were spending a fortune on weed control products and fertilizers and it felt like the weeds were just mocking us. My in-laws have used Trugreen for years, so we contacted them and found out about the connection to our home. It's definitely expensive, but you get what you pay for. We rarely have a significant weed breakthrough and, if we do, they will come out and re-treat at no cost. Our yard looks good and weed-free all year. <br /> Here's the rub...we've been charged for treatments that we did not request and have had to closely monitor our bills to make sure that nothing is being added to our account without authorization. Last fall, following the severe drought that really did a number on our yard, they sold us a rejuvenation package, which was very expensive. It was to include verticutting/aeration, fertility, overseeding and a chicken manure product that is supposed to hold moisture in the soil and promote a vigorous start to the new growth. Near as we can tell, they didn't verticut or aerate anything. We followed their watering protocol to the letter and the overseeding and chicken manure didn't do anything (I was suspicious of that from the get-go - it sounded a little like "manure" if you know what I mean). We had to re-seed all of those bare areas again in the spring ourselves and got much better results. If we stick to our weed control program, it's all good. It's these additional services that have not been impressive. Also don't like the upsell when they send the sales rep around under the guise of doing a randomly selected audit on the yard, which turns in to an attempt to scare you into buying their insect control programs. <br />"

"Although the provider was prompt and did the service, the results was inconclusive at best.  We did not see any noticeable difference in the lawn.  We had the same resulting crabgrass infestation as we had had in years prior.  We have since taken it upon ourselves to provide this service to our yard and have seen a much more noticeable improvement. <br />"

"They came initially for a consultation. They were able to provide a computer image that was in color. We asked for plantings that would attract birds. We were able to change the plan as we wanted. They were on time and showed up when they said they would. They followed up very well. The work men were professional. I can’t say enough good things about them. We will have them back to additional work in another part of yard. We want to have them back to landscape our back yard. They also offer regular lawn maintenance service. We have has neighbors compliment the work and have also asked about who did the work for us."

"It turned out just fine. The gentleman came out and sprayed for general pest. He recommended not spraying for brown recluse at the time. He is doing a termite inspection for me on the 31st and that is part of the membership and doesn't cost me anything. He didn't charge me for his initial come out at all. He applied that price that I paid toward the membership fee. That worked out quite well for us. They are kind of a home business and they are on an answering machine and they don't answer their phones a lot and then it takes them sometimes 2 or 3 days to get back to you. They are really not very good at getting back to you. They are really bad about that. They are very good at showing up on time. They are very professional."
