"The owner came out to give the cost estimate which impressed me. I like the story of his company and felt assured he would do a good job. The windows look great but apparently power washing the house didn't include doing the shutters, mailbox or porch light which are all stilll dusty dirty. Also, they didn't respond to my email regarding this. A little more effort on their part would have made a big difference to me."

"I brought the Angie's Deal for exterior pressure wash, but I needed additional services to my house. I called Birds Beware and added roof cleaning and window washing.

I was very pleased, they lived up to their good reputation. I will use them again."

"Impact Interiors was recommended by our real estate agent as a "staging" service to provide temporary furnishings to make an empty house look more attractive and sell at a better price.  She also advises the real estate agent on colors and other options when re-finishing a house in preparation for sale.
I think the staging went well.  They delivered the furnishings on time and set them all up.  It looked attractive.  They removed them on time.
It is impossible to say whether the buyers were inclined to offer a higher price because the house looked better with the temporary furniture in it.  Of the 20 visitors that came on the first weekend, we had one serious offer.
However, I can say that it helped convince my real estate agent that we were justified in asking for a higher price than we originally discussed.   And since that one offer settled on a price that was more than 99% of that higher asking price, I can say with a fair degree of confidence that the money invested in the staging paid off.
The recommendations on the paint colors was more difficult.  While my family was willing to accept any colors recommended for the interior of the house, we had very serious concerns about the color recommended for the exterior.  Whether a particular color is the "in" thing or is simply just a common fad that will be gone in a year or two is a subjective matter, of course.  However, the owner of Impact Interiors needs to be more sensitive to the wishes of her clients.  She needs to learn how to offer an opinion without insisting on it.  She needs to be able to find substantially different secondary alternatives rather than sticking to the first.  I hope this degree of professionalism will develop as she continues with her work.

"They were so fast that there was plenty of time left over after removing leaves and branches/sticks that I had requested that they offered to do more.  They removed all dead perennial leaves, etc. that I did not have time to do in the fall as well.  My flower beds are now clear of leaves and debris and ready to go.  All of this would have taken me days.  Now I can get right to gardening.  Time to start planting bulbs!
The men who came were very polite and professional, communication with the business was excellent.  We had rain expected and they were able to come out earlier than we had originally planned in order to beat the rain.  This has been a VERY positive experience and I will definitely be doing this again next spring!!!

"Alan and his crew were very nice and great to work with, we doubled the amount of boards originally projected and they were very good about dealing with the change. Crew cleaned up after themselves and hauled everything away. Cost very reasonable, did not feel like we were being taken advantage of on price. I came home to a great looking deck and no clean up! Thanks, for helping us out."

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Saline, MI

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
