Mr. Sims at first said he'd discount the work by $50, but then discounted it by $100.  I have absolutely no complaints this time, and would recommend him highly. I can appreciate his wanting to make things right and he did so beyond my expectations. A+ for both him and his crew.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p>November 2015-</p> <p>I want to like the work they did, I really do. The entire crew was polite and professional and showed up when they said they would. The contract they wrote called for 14 or 15 large diameter cuts on the pine tree, and I'm sure they did at least that much if not more. I know they took away more material than they had planned for. But every time I look at that pine, I see how uneven and lopsided it appears, how there are two large areas that were not thinned, and  how I will have to call another crew sooner rather than later to finish the job.</p> <p>One thing I do appreciate is that they use a truck with a lift basket instead of climbing the tree with spikes. But I have to believe that is also the source of the issue. The untouched areas are all what was out of their reach from the basket. Of course, they could have moved the truck to reach those areas. But they didn't. </p> <p>My guess is that they under valued / underbid the job, did as much as they felt they could given the money they asked for, and left rather than incur a loss by staying and working longer on it. The question is what is the standard of quality - do you do enough to satisfy the contract, or do you do the job right regardless of what you bid for? The answer for me at least is that having hired a tree trimmer to do a job, I will have to hire another one to complete it. And as much as I want to like them, I don't like that I have to now seek another trimmer to finish the job.</p> <p>UPDATE 5/15/15</p> <p>Mr Sims contacted me, said he had just recently had time to read his reviews and was concerned that I was unhappy and wanted to make things right. I appreciate that effort, Unfortunately, now is not the season to cut the tree. I will contact Mr Sims in November and we will see what happens then. But again, the only error I think he made was to underestimate the actual amount of work needed (and from that, to price accordingly).</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p>"

"I ordered an inspection $80 to be waived if this company did the work. The inspector was very knowledgeable. A report arrived promptly by U.S. Mail as requested. I scheduled the work, but the forecast was for rain, so I called to reschedule. (Water collects under my house in a storm and I didn't want subterranean work done due to risk of injury/presence of water.) There was a lot of push back on this, but the job was later rescheduled. Ole came out and did an excellent job of taking care of the termites. The inspector alerted me to the presence of a rat living in my attic--this was much appreciated and I called an exterminator. Ole reattached my clothes dryer vent, which runs underneath my house. That was also appreciated. His impromptu inspection of my foundation wasn't warranted, in my opinion, as I don't know his qualifications for that type of work."

"Ray Reyes, R&R Landscape Inc is the BEST POOL AND LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR that I have ever worked with in the 30+ years I have been in the building industry. I am an Interior Designer and have worked with hundreds of interior and exterior subcontractors over the years, and am thrilled to have found Ray Reyes. I went to Angies List to get 3 contractor bids on a backyard renovation that I was a project manager on. Ray came out to meet with me and we discussed the project, he had great ideas that would be cost effective but give "a lot of look". Ray worked with me on the final price and the job was let to him for $39,500. He started the job on July 9th. During the process or removing an old wood deck, Ray suggested that we add in a 3'x60" retaining wall to be able to extend the area behind the pool to 10" deep. This made a lot of sense and enabled us extend the pavers out to use this area more efficiently. We had some added work that we wanted including the block wall, more sprinklers, plantings etc and the total job came to $50,000. Ray's communication with me throughout the job was excellent. He called me at least every other day to update me on the job progress and what was going to be done next. He always answered my calls to him and if I left a message, it was always returned promptly. All of his employees worked very hard 8 hour days in the 100+ degree heat. They were all very polite and professional and the jobsite was cleaned each night. They were very grateful for the water and sodas I gave them each day. Ray kept in constant contact with his workers on the job to answer any questions that came up. Ray visited my jobsite at least three times a week which was impressive because his jobsites are spread over a wide area. I am so pleased with the final outcome of this project and have already recommended and secured an additional three jobs for R&R Landscape. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone wanting to do a project large or small for landscaping, hardscape, and pool refinishing. He is absolutely my first choice for all future exterior projects!!!!! Thanks Ray for a truly enjoyable experience."
