"I hired William and his team to weed mulch and clean up my flower beds, and weed and feed my lawn. The price was high, but I thought the quality would be worth it. After the work was done, I thought the job was well done, however, I found that there was weed killer sprayed on the grass, but the lawn was never seeded which created large brown spots on the lawn, the beds were not weeded, only mulch placed over the weeds, which grew through the next week. The weed killer was sprayed on my neighbors rose bush and killed it. When I reached out to William, he ignored my requests to address the problem."

"I have extensive damage to my lawn due to moles, so I needed to have the whole lawn reseeded. I decided to have the lawn aerated with their two direction aerator and then seeded. They said your lawn would be thick come spring time and would have very few if any weeds. They were right, grass even grew in shaded areas that would never take shade seed. They left you with a small bag of sun seed and small bag of shade seed to touch up any areas that need some attention. Very happy with the results. I used a little of the shade seed in the spring and that was all."

"What I especially appreciated was the care taken to do the job right! He put in appropriate drains for downspouts, built up the flower beds with appropriate soil, fertilized all plants, and planted grass seed where bare spots were created from removal of dying trees. Because we are new to this area, I was also impressed by his knowledge of the plants and trees used in the landscape plan. He took the time to explain to me how to care for my new plantings. He and his worker were very professional and worked really hard to do a good job! I would recommend and use his services again! Well worth the money! <br />"

"They appear to be dependable. They're here every week and they show up with 2 big lawn mowers. They're here for about 10 minutes, it's a miracle how they finish the job quickly. I don't have any complaints from them. The pricing is reasonable compared to other companies. I just call them when the grass needs mowing and they give me a time for them to come. They show up when they want to show up and leave when they want to leave. You see the guys passing by and they smile and wave at you."

"The crew, lead by Luis, showed up as scheduled and talked with us about the work agreed upon. Luis was very professional and courteous and the crew started work immediately.  The tree was massive, but the crew made it look like a cake walk. They cleaned all debris and wood as they worked and took care in not damaging any of our other trees and buildings/fence in the area of work.  While they finished cutting down the large tree, they trimmed the other tree carefully and ground out the stumps we had identified in the yard. They cleaned up as they went, and filled in the large hole left by the huge stump as well.  They are currently still working on grinding out the dead tree stump and the remainder of the crew has moved on to other jobs. They were professional, know their trade, left our yard the way they found it, and completed the job much faster than we ever expected.  <br /> I've already called Jill at the office to sing our praises and pay the invoice. We will definitely hire them again should we have future tree work and recommend them to our friends. Thanks so much!! <br />"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Westminster, MD

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
